You read my mind Steve! I was going to suggest Horsethief Flats for the moderate group.

He he...right on..I really like that trail....
another good one is 3N61 ...GadZuk's adopt-A-trail...what's really cool about it is ...its moderate going down but more difficult going up it...fun trail...it has a spot where the rocks get tight making it hard for wider rigs like Jk's to get through it ...O and u have to watch out for the trees....lol

Yup! 3N61 Jacoby Canyon was the other one I was gonna throw out there! That was the first trail I ran when I got back to California. Way funner going up but it's short, so I would throw Little John Bull in at the end and you would have a pretty decent moderate run!

U know Joe....maybe u can find it.....there used to be a trail that my dad & I would run all the time back in the 70's and 80s...and I haven't been on it sense the mid 90s... it doesn't seem to be on any of my newer maps...it was definitely a black Dimond trail by today's standards ....it was 2N69x....and if I remember right it around Hanna Rocks...great trail...

Just so happens I have a 1971 USGS map! I didn't see a 2N69X around Hanna Rocks but there was a 2N01X that shoots off of 2N68 that goes behind Hanna Rocks; 2N01X doesn't exist on my newer maps so could this be the one you are thinking?

I'll be up at Hanna Flats for the Veterans Run next weekend, I can swing down there to see if this is it and if it is open. Last time I was in that area (a year ago) the roads were still closed from the Butler 2 fire.

I'll check it out though, would be a nice option like the Stoddard Wells run you lead for the last M&G!

yeah it hooks behind Hanna Flats ... I'll look on the old maps some more ... I also checked out the closures with SBNF ... according to their website the entire snow slide area is still closed from the fires ... so if the trail is out by hanna rocks it's gonna be hard to get to

I vote for any weekend OTHER than the last weekend in July since I already have my Kenny Chesney and Eric Church concert tickets!

Hmmm. Gotta remember how to post the poll, haha. Looking for the box that I click on. Boring day with work, not really focused.

You can only do it on a new thread. If you start a thread, it will be the last option before the 'submit new thread' button.

If you want to add the poll to an already existing thread, then yes, you need a mod to do it.

Count me in Jeff. I would probably prefer the first weekend in August too due to the traffic from the NAXJA & VW runs up there in August. Camping at Hanna Flats again sounds ok to me but Holcomb Valley Campground is closer to John Bull & is less crowded. Of course it doesn't have showers like Hanna Flats does but it's a nice less crowded campsite that is nice for the slightly rowdy bunch we can be at times.

Oh hey, I was pretty jazzed to find my dash plaque commemorating the 1st Annual WF M&G run from back in 2009! It is now proudly displayed on my glove compartment door. It had somehow found its way into my tool box, it was a nice discovery.

I second Jerry's suggestion for Holcomb Valley Campground. The only problem is that it is all first come first serve and there are only 19 spots. If you have as big of turnout as Calico, you may need to set something up like BBFF!

This is why I'd prefer Hana Flats. I'd prefer to be able to reserve a spot instead of having to get there at the crack of dawn hoping I get one.

At the rate Jeff's events are going...maybe we should just reserve the WHOLE Hanna Flat campground up front
