Ya it's leaking!! Not happy. I watched the way it can out and put it back the same way. And now I am mad! I guess it's time to start all over!!

Did you put sealant on the gasket? also there is usually a small machined lip the thermostat sits down into.

Those tailights look awesome. My next big purchase for the Jeep will be the headlights, I hate the factory ones with a passion! My Infiniti has awesome headlights, they work 100 times better than the Jeep and it's 6 years old.

RTV or The right stuff. It's a gasket maker in a tube. But some silicone ought to do the job.

You mentioned how much you liked them when I was in, I will probably have questions for you when I'm ready to upgrade

As I pour in the coolant it comes out the bottom bolt! Lol. Gonna have to limp the other car to work tomorrow and then get some. I called Walmart the only store open at this time in our area and the guy has a spray can of silicone. I don't think that is what I need said it was lubricant. I need sealer. Ugh. Oh well. Will start over tomorrow night after work. At least I know where it is. Although another stupid question:

How the hell do I loosen that belt to get the darn thing outta the way? It's liberating doing it myself but how the heck do mechanics do this it all smells an my hands are dirty! Lol. Time for a shower!

When you get your thermostat and gasket ask the autozone person for sealant.

Read the instructions as some sealants require setting time before the final tighten down. Also run sealant around the bolt holes too.

Wear surgical gloves to avoid smelly hands and then you can threaten the boyfriend with "that" exam.

Lol Gunner you so funny! Yes that darn bolt was stupid and difficult! I am sure it's in. It took me 45 minutes to put the damn thing back.

That bolt must go to water. Teflon tape would do the job.

I don't think I have any of that either. I will buy some tomorrow also. It's cool for tonight. My car car needs a timing chain and valve job hasn't broken completely yet. And I have aaa if it does. I don't like it as much as the jeep. And then I was told it needed a lot of work. I have been to focused on the jeep to really worry about it. I only go 15 miles each way to work so... I will start over tomorrow. And there was a bunch of goopy stuff at the end of the bolt. I wiped it off.

Thanks Gunner. I think my dad would have been proud. He was a mechanic for 30 years for ford. Passed 2 years ago at the young age of 57. I started changing stuff then realizing that our days are not forever. I am a very independent determined female. I think I can call him every time I have a car question and yet I know I can't. So thank you all for helping. Ya all are kinda like a call to dad.

If you have an auto trans, it's your neutral safety/back up light switch. Very easy fix, and the switch is $15 or so.
