Or right away, doesn't matter as long as the surface was clean and dry when you applied the silicone.

Sure was took off the gasket that I put on the other night. Scraped the surface of all debris, wiped with a rag with a bit of parts cleaner. So I was sure it was tidy and the applied the rtv to the part that comes off and then set the new gasket on after a few minutes and then put rtv on the other side too. Waiting my 10 minutes like the package says

It should the f tard that replaced the thermostat a while back didn't replace the gasket. Needless to say that's why I am doing it myself, shops cost too much and I don't want to trust people that lie steal and cheat! The sad part is that he works for me at the store. He charged me $185 for a part that costs $40. He said it was a special order dealer part and got it from a friends shop. When I asked for the receipt he couldn't get it cause of some bs. That is when I called autozone and found he was lying. I wanted to fire him but... I can't. It would be an HR issue. Anyway I don't have him do anything for me. He is ex military and did mechanics in the army so I thought he would be able to be trusted and knew what he was doing. Guess not.

It's all good Gunner. Elmo helped and Jp1 ? (I think) all tighten and refilled no leaks haven't started it yet. I figured I would wait a while. Also I took the over flow container off and scrubbed it. It had some nasty crap in the bottom I figured it shouldn't go back in there it was nasty.

Now that you are a master mechanic... You can come over and replace the rear slave cylinders on my '42!

That'll warm you up to do the spring replacement on the '95 as soon as the OME package arrives.

I'm just willing to make a great personal sacrifice by letting you do all the wrenching on my jeeps so you can learn. What a guy!

You are so nice Milo. What would I do without friends like you? I can come help. But I would have no idea what I was getting into. And most likely I would be handing you the wrenches. Lol.

A slave cylinder is formally known as a wheel cylinder. It's the brake part at the wheel that pushes your brake shoes out to engage the drum and slow you down.
