Unless by chance something else goes wrong I should be able to do that run on the chance anything goes wrong and costs more that $50 to fix I am out! This is all a bit over whelming this week. And I will just get a room I am not in the mood to do any roughing it anywhere at this moment. Lol.

A place up here quoted me 140. Wouldn't have to take to much time off... They had a map of the rear end (wrong one of course) and told me it was broken. It's not any way my ex is doing it. But the seals needed pressed off and on and he is doing rear breaks too. All for some beer.

Every problem ends up being a learning experience, some just stress us out more than others.

Oh, it's important to know your rear end too

Lol ya he pulled the diagram for the Dana 35 and when it didn't work he wanted me to go to a driveline shop. I have the Dana 44. Obviously he didn't know the difference. Lol thank goodness he didn't mess up anything trying to do it wrong

It helps that he likes me

I'm very lucky, I have many options and they are all within a 10 mile radius.

I can go to Dennis, my Dad's or Mike can deal with it. Hopefully with a brand new JKU I won't need any emergency type work. I have a great warranty so the dealership is always an option too, they are 16 miles away.

My car on the other hand is a pain. If it's not something Nissan can fix or if it's a warranty issue I have to drive 2 hours to Oxnard. If it's mechanical and it can't be driven, they will send a flatbed up to get it. I made sure that was included when I bought it. Still a pain if I want something minor done under warranty, I have to make a list and plan a full day of it.

You did explain the error to him, didn't you? I guarantee he would know the difference when I got done with him

I had already left and made arrangements for the ex to look at it after several of the guys insisted that there was no reason for the differential to come apart. He looked at the diagram and asked for one that matched and then said never mind and went about it differently. I didn't call the shop or anything.

If he thought he had a D35 he was going to pull the back cover and remove the C-Clips from the axle. A D-44 dosen't use the clips so you don't have to break into the pumpkin.

Yep that is what they both did. The shop was also going to completely dismantle the differential also. That's where the guys were asking why is he doing that? But the ex had no idea until he tore it apart. And the diagram didn't match, mini sent me a picture of the different pumpkins and asked which one I had. It's was then we knew. So the ex started taking it apart from the wheel area. So it's all taken apart and it will get all cleaned and all new fresh fluid again. And new rear breaks too.

That sounds like a really good price for a pretty big soft top.

So I am thinking about selling my rear bumper setup. 500 bucks with the Jerry cans. Both cans have new tops and gaskets and I have a new filler for it. These are Military 5 gallon type cans, not the cheap ones you see that don't work. 500 bucks for the whole deal. Less the spare and the Hi lift.
