I'd really have to see and take some notes and do the research* to give you a solid answer. However the basic things a collector looks for is:

Serial number. Tells who bought it. Army, Navy etc. and year of manufacture.
Are the frame, slide, internals all Rand
Condition, mechanical and finish.
Grips

I'm a Colt guy so I'd have to research wether Rand marked their barrel bushings and links. If so, that's what you need to get. If not a period link and barrel bushing will do but you want to find a barrel bushing that matches the finish of the rest of the pistol.

*Which I do for fun.

Gosh I love Havasu, I'm jealous your there but hope your having a great time.

We used to go once a month and up until last year we went over Thanksgiving and celebrated with friends. Just 4 families, boats, RV's and our dogs. So much fun, no family drama (except the guys drinking too much and over cooking the turkey) We went last Fathers day and haven't been back since.

I think we need a trip this summer, I'm going to have to work on Mike for that It's a 9.5 hour drive, so we have to stay a few days to make it worth it.

Just so you know. Rand built 1911A1s and the finish was crude in comparison to pre war Colts as the need for a functioning and reliable gun out weighed the finish.

Note to self: Keep you and my husband apart I'm pretty sure you two could fill an evening or two or three with gun talk. lol.

Here is a picture. The 4 5/8 ODI conversion goes with it. It says US Army right on it.

Modern grips and sights but other than that. I'd need the serial number and to see and touch it.

feel free to PM me the serial number.

At the bank doing my deposit. A lady comes in with two twin boys. The one boy is talking to everyone and she told him they talked about that. And for him to sit back please. Several times this same conversation took place. The other boy sitting quiet finally asks "am I being a good listener?" The lady tells him yes she is so proud of him. The other talkative boy says "what about me, am I being a good listener?" She tells him well you're working on it. Lol he says loudly "I hate working on it!"

Omg I had to try so hard not to burst out laughing!!!

Slide is tight on the rails. Trigger and hammer work smooth. I have 2 old mags for it. Look like factory oldies.

It sounds like she's a patient person trying to raise decent kids. That's not very common these days. I find myself walking away to keep from laughing quite often when Amanda is correcting Caleb. Even at 2 he pops off with some funny stuff, or just gives a huge smile and says, "Hi Momma" and bats his eyes

I think she may have been the baby sitter. But none the less I almost choked trying not to laugh. They were probably about 3-4 years old.

Never sell your guns. I keep everything. Plan on handing them all to my kids.

I sell everything but my wife and kids. Besides they don't want the guns. I got it as a payoff for a car we sold.

About 2 years ago when things went South in the Construction industry, Mike had customers bringing in all sorts of things to pay their bills. We received a 2006 Road King, 2 different dirt bikes and there were a few firearms some Mike just recently told me about. Lol

He finally sold the Harley and dirt bikes. I was worried we would be receiving chickens and goats if he didn't stop accepting things in trade

Like he said though, something is better than nothing but a bankruptcy notice and getting nothing.

I was at the hardware store on Sunday, saw this Jeep in the lot parked across from me. I looked it over, it was really nice. When the guy left it sounded amazing, obliviously a healthy V8.

I've never seen it around here before, tonight I find it on Craigslist. It's like it's haunting me, lol.

I know, there's been alot of work done to it that he doesn't list either. When I saw it the other day I was surprised how clean it is, especially since I'm pretty sure it's been to the dunes. The picture in the ad is taken on the dunes.

My exwife's husband is dying and I have been waiting for a call to go get my grandson who was visiting. I'll be MIA for a couple of days. But will try to check in on the road.
