Good thing is if you don't like it you can just pull it off.

But it looks killer! If I paint my Jeep this summer I'm gonna leave my grill black too. I'm gonna maybe go flat desert tan, don't know if I want to put in the work though. I love this:

I like the dessert sand, but saw the Dune in person at the dealership and didn't like it at all. It has a lot of pink tone to it, I looked at it from different angles and it looked the same each time.

I think Mopar used a matte dune on this Jeep.

I'm undecided on the tan ... I do know that I want flat paint ... haven't decided between black, dark grey, OD Green, or Tan. Flat paint is just easier to maintain.

I gotta find the picture of my Camo Baja Bug. Geri and I just went down to the store one day and bought a hundred bucks worth of Rustolem Camo colors. We sanded and taped and then had a blast doing the pattern's. Fun times.

So thinking about cutting my front stock metal flares on my TJ to make it look like tube flares. Basically just to hold me over until I can get my poison spyder flares. Wondering if this a good or bad idea. Any opinions?

So your gonna run with no flares till you get the PS ones? I've see rigs with the rubber flares removed but not one with the metal cut too. Don't know how it would look. I don't think it would be bad though.

Yea take the flare off and cut the metal. I just hate the look of the stock metal flare on the TJs.

How long until you get the PSC ones? May want to hang off on cutting them... Could always sell them down the road for more parts.

Plus you have a very clean rig. I've seen cut tj flares and they tend to look hacked up IMHO

Would you cut it all the way to the hood or would you be cutting the part that hangs down and the flare bolts to it? Not sure which way your wanting to go. There are some rigs running on the forum that have no fenders. But their JK's Havent seen the look on a tj yet.

Basically just cutting it straight above the rectangular marker light and then just trimming the fender mounting hardware off. Would be the same as running no flares but without the mounting holes and without the big ugly light.

Heck try it. What happens if you don't like it? You just save faster for the PSC flares.

That's kind of my thought and I would already have my new marker light installed and what not. Also I think a small weather striping on the edges like the JK guys do on their cut fenders would make it look a ton better.
