Upgrade your gears for 35's. better axle shafts , your engine can handle 35 but you will lose power due to the 35's.

What made you ask a tread all the way on the other coast for advise. I doubt we will have the same needs much less drive under the same conditions? Not that there is anything wrong I'm just curios.

Hi and welcome to the forum. What engine do you have? 6 or 4? Thats gonna make a difference in how your rig is going to handle the tires.

Sitting at loon lake moments before entering the Rubicon trail. I remember thinking, oh sh!t......here we go.

I wouldn't trade that trip for anything. I hope that each and everyone of you get the chance to enjoy the Rubicon trail at least once in your life.

You don't really need much more than a winch. A rear locker is what I had and used it just a few times. The trail really has been given a bad rap as far as what you absolutely need. I will say that a rear locker is a good idea when climbing the last hurtle. Cadillac hill. Other than that, a winch is all you would need.

If your on 35's your going to have a great time. Rigs like Stan has will almost be bored going through there. With 40's its almost like cheating. However. Not having to worry about clearance, he will be enjoying the scenery.

I think the more important thing to bring is a camera. The Area is some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I took lots of pics. But wishes I had taken more.

You sound like me Bob...only I'm serious we were planning on Jeep Jamboree this year, but it looks like we are waiting until next summer. It's still camping, just not nearly as tough. Either that or I am resolved to do one night on the trail standard camping... Can't wait!
