How long you been together. Sounds like you haven't been gelded yet. I don't think guys like you ever do stop needing to get the adrelaine pumping once in a while. Combat either makes you a thrill junkie or it makes you careful. I am a former myself. I love the rush.

Actually that made me laugh. Thanks. It's just the way it goes I guess. Funny thing is I never felt the freest than when my old house burnt down. Almost everything I owned burnt except the bike I rode on. All the memories of my dad, my travelers. I told my self I get to do all over a gain. Like it was a reset button.

Does she have a reason to be afraid you might get hurt or not come back when you go on your jaunts. Maybe she is just scared of loosing you.

Yes I do get stupid sometimes. I stand on edges of the Grand Canyon or the tip of waterfalls all the time.
But this time she seriously thought I was going after our visitor here in the south land the one Elmo had to work for on Friday.

Hell dude I would have shot you in the leg and hauled your butt out of the jeep by your shorthairs. She has a lot of reasons to act that way.

That's a lot of life together to just decide its time to call it a quits. I do understand your need to just up and go. However, you have chose to become a father/husband. That kind of puts your needs at the end of the line. At least in my life or marriage I have always put my wants and needs last. Even when it was time for me and something came up I just pushed it to the back of the priority line. Just know I am not judging you or your choices.
I guess I see things differently than most. I take the life of my children and wife very seriously. I'm not sure I could live with myself knowing I left my kids.

Again. Far to little information to make a proper judgement or give an opinion on your life's situation. Either way. I wish you luck.

Wow is all I can say about this event! Sorry Ditchdoc! But please don't hold that against all women. We aren't all bad. The crazy ones give us a bad name. That kind of relationship is bad for everyone involved. Sorry to hear you're going thru this!!!

Don't get me wrong I have settled down. We are talking just about a weekend trip here. I do have insurance that will be able to take care of them if I end up dead somewhere.

Dead is not the same as money. How would you feel if you lost a kid. Money does not replace love. Gotta fly

It's not like I could do it with success. I just don't have the capability. But for her she thinks because of what I was in the past I'm capable of anything with a Swiss Army knife and a chemistry set.

Sounds to me maybe you two need to sit down and communicate, not the yelling, I'm right and your wrong type though. Just some good talking and a little compromising on both sides.

Maybe you say things in a way that scare her and throws her into crazy mode worrying about your well being. Maybe she comes across controlling and crazy when really she's just scared and panicking.

We've all said and acted in ways that we don't really understand what made us do it, sometimes if we understand what triggers our reactions it can help us change that behavior.

I'm no expert, I have been married for 31 years though. We got married at 18, so we've both had some crazy, stupid moments.

I hate to see people split up, I've had so many friends get divorced and it just makes me sad. If there's no hope, then that's what has to happen for both parties to be happy. But if there is a chance I would hate to see you have any regrets.

Hang in there, and best of luck to both of you.
