The things we collect are special and have meaning, you guys collect anything you can get My husband swears all his stuff is, "good shit" and nothing is called junk

I've refused to buy property a couple times because I'm afraid of what Mike will fill it up with. My daughter constantly calls me and says, "do you know what Dad bought and put in my backyard?" Lol, he can't get away with anything

Let's look at this from a different angle.

Wouldn't you rather he go out and collect "good shit" than something you'd really rather he not collect. Illegal drugs, other women...

Here in the next week or so I may make a weekday run for Deep Creek from the desert side ... there was a place my dad and I used to camp upriver from the hot springs and I intend on finding it ... if the road still exists after 25 years ... let me know if anyone is up for some exploring .... should be a good family day with some swimming for the kids

I was thinking even sooner than that ... Wednesday maybe

I found the road I need on one of my old maps marked only as "Jeep Trail" ... whether or not it's blocked by the forest service is to be determined

I guarantee he couldn't afford to collect those things, this is Calif. and when I got thru with him he'd be living in a box

I really don't care about his collecting crap as long a it stays at his shop and not in my yard

Ugh ... there is a very strong chance that this area has been shut down by tree huggers ... maybe I'll just go to Devil's Hole for the kiddos to swim

I don't think I would have to twist my kids' arms to go again in August lmao ...

I'm hoping that by going in the middle of the week less people will be there ... Devil's Hole can get busy ... so if anyone wants to tag along PM me ... want to keep it small so I don't want to start a thread

Awesome lol. If I had an assistant I could take a week day but I have to find one. Picking a jeep was easier than finding an honest hard working employee lol

Yep... A little more research and I found out that the forest service designated probably the best camping spot in SBNF as critical habitat for the arroyo toad ... bulldozed the road ... that sucks

I'd tack it on to the end of dishpan or pilot rock .... the way out to Devil's Hole by itself is too easy

I really wish I could go to bed and wake up on Thursday, tomorrow is Paul's funeral and it's going to be a brutal day.

Everyone will be an emotional mess, we were discussing the fact that we have no anchor tomorrow. You know how there's always one strong person that can help you hold it together? None of us are it, lol.

The circus is in town, we talked about stopping by and seeing if we can get a clown to go to the reception as our anchor, Paul would have busted up over that

My husband thinks he's a comedian, he just sent me a text from Jocko's bar (2 blocks away) He took my Jeep since he had to pick up 2 other guys.

He said they finished at the church and are having a beer, he's going wheeling and should be home about 4.

I told him don't bother coming home if he takes my Jeep out, he doesn't live here anymore and his dog will be waiting in the driveway, lol.

He then tells me he would have to come get his Jeep to do any real wheeling anyhow Now that's just wrong, he has now set the Jeep wars in motion

Poor guy, after the past week we've had I'll probably let him think his Jeep is better...............for now

We're just taking the TJ to big bear. It will be trailered behind our motorhome. It's too much trouble to take both that far.

I will check with mike again about the potatoes, I asked him and honestly can't remember if he responded. Lol

I honestly don't see an issue, I've cooked many things over a few days of camping and we have never run out of propane. It's got a huge tank and uses very little. Only the stove & fridge.use it.

Lots of stuff going on here. Sorry i've not been around. Family issues, death in the family, breakups and cops called. Too much drama. Lucky my wife and I have a really strong marriage, we have hunkered down and did our best to calm the storms. I am looking forward to Big Bear as a relief valve.

Wow Bob, sounds like we've had similar weeks. I hope things get better and calm down for you.

We made in thru the funeral mass and the graveside service. Paul would have gotten a kick out of the police escorts and freeway lane closures.
His presence is everywhere today, as the bagpipes played Amazing Grace at the cemetery a tractor drove by. Sometimes we just have to find the humor in things to get us through.

Rhonda, Mike said we can cook potatoes all day and were fine
