Lord almighty this thread took a turn for the worse

Anyhoo......I stopped by Dennis's today and the black Jeep didn't go back to his shop after King of the Hammers. That just means he built a hell of a rig that withstood the owners abuse. It also means I didn't get to see it and give it's tires a big hug My heart is broken like my first school girl crush.......I love that Jeep

Lisa I blame Doc. It's all his fault. The rest of us are innocent lambs.

Hi Rampley we just have so much fun here. Doc is naughty once in a while though.

Did you seriously just ask this with the way this thread has been going this evening

Don't be too shocked with the responses you may get

And personally, I prefer the hard.....top of course Although, the soft will be nice change once in awhile when the weather is warm I wouldn't trade then though. The hard (top) gets more use, at least in my opinion.

I wouldn't do a straight trade. Your hard top cost more.

Hey just from my way of thinking. My hard top just might get super glued to the tub. I already have a noisy jeep. And if you have a hard top and a garage you can always hook up a pulley system to remove the top and park it on the ceiling. And you won't have to replace it in a few years.

I like my soft top. You saw how easy and fast it was for me to take the windows off and have a open jeep.

I never had a soft top on either one of the prior TJ's, it would have been nice when we took the hard top off. I did get both on the JKU, this summer we will take on the task of installing the soft top. We are lucky that we have access to a forklift and that's how we took the hard off the TJ. We used it to lift the hard top on the JKU since they package the soft top under it. Who thought up that was a big dummy!

A lot depends on your ability to store it and how safe your Jeep will be with a soft top on also.

I say you buy a soft top and keep your hard top. A soft top for the summer months. You can yake the windows off and have an open jeep with a roof. In the chilly summer nights its easy to put back on. And the whole soft top can be installed in minutes.

Not the same, the black Jeep is a unique creature that took years to build. Plus I don't have that kind of time or money, lol.

A girl can dream though

Personally. I say keep the hardtop and buy a sun rider top and half doors for summer. When/if the kids go to Sacramento ill be removing the top, doors, carpet, and all the other fancy crap.

Yeah and then you have the hard top for when you want to take a trip and not have the wind flapping your top on the freeway. I remember those soft tops from when I was into english sports cars. Those soft tops were way more noisy.

Good morning Bob. Looks like I got some work coming my way. The jeep that was here recently needs some work done. As for the tops, when I had my YJ we would rock the hard tops out to the camp site then drop door and tops before runs. I miss that old think.

Yeah it was nice being able to go instant convertible when the sun shine was good or at night when the stars were out and the temps were in the 70's. I just have no storage for a hard top now. There are times though!!!!
