Lets try and keep this Mod happy and kid friendly.:punk: A place to hang out and talk jeeps, family, work, whatever. Watch the language and topics so we don't get shut down.:nonono: If you decide to do a run then post a new run thread so this doesn't get cluttered. And above all keep it fun.

My wifes DD is a Hyundai. She won't let me touch it. It is still totally stock. My jeep is our toy. She enjoys getting into the research of the mods too. She is always excited to see what Stan and i have cooked up. But she is glad that she has a place to park and no dirt or grease in the house anymore. She did 25 years of my home engine business and installs in the front yard. I gotta admit I miss the wrenching some but not enough to get back into it.

I won't do it for a living anymore but I'll take on a side project here and there to put more money in the jeep fund

Awesome GUNNER and HDGASSER. Thank you I will be getting 35s
If you plan on mostly DD and some light wheeling here and there, those 35s will probably go a long long time without ruining any stock parts. So if you are on the fence, 35s are the way to go.

If anything wears out over time it will be the ball joints and that is just cuz JK stock BJs suck. (See what I did there?)

Wish there was a way to flip the Tie rod with these stupid knuckles ... Can flip the drag link though ... Saw ORO had some sort of bracket to run a straight tie rod that give you an extra inch of clearance but it looks shady and rubs the wheels ...

Kenny the more I look at it the more I like the rhd high steer you got cooking ... I wonder if you'd even need to swap knuckles if you ran a tie rod/drag link combo to the to the top side of the stock tie rod mounts ... Should net 3" or more of clearance I'm guessing

Yeah I'm thinking I'm going to flip the tie rod for now and the drag link. Can't swing the knuckle before hi-desert round up. I need to get some tubing and a new 3/4" bit and I'll be in business.

Edit: if you notice the arms stick out different lengths so I don't know if it would result in some weird fubar'd steering or not. Like one knuckle would turn further than the other either tie tierod and drag link going to the same and then the tie rod bolting to the factory but flipped location on the driverside.

Yeah the JKs tie rod is bent all sorts of funky ... OROs solution makes some sense ... But bolting a bracket onto the knuckle seems shady ... It may work well though ... They call it tru turn ... Check it out
well it bolts to the tie rod hole and one of the unit bearing holes. I think it should be fine, but I don't think it would be worth it or clear our 15" wheels of you flip the tierod even with heims. My heims are on the way I just need some tubing and so that might have to wait till the 4 day in 3 weeks

Lol I did . Thanks! I just got an alignment and ordered some 35 bfg km2s. I can't wait!

Whoa. Lol yea you guys are on another level. I have 4.10 gears. Yea if I could go a while without regearing that'd be nice.
I have the same gears and run 35" tires. I
Have for two years with no problems. I've done Nightmare Gulch, last chance canyon, along with Odessa & Doran in Calico. Nothing has broke so far and it's had quite a bit of highway trips between.
I say go for the 35" and save yourself money in the long run. If you go with 33" before long your just going to be selling them to go with the 35". If you go with the 35" now you won't have to buy them later and that money can go to an upgrade to better support them.
You will go bigger, it's a fact no matter how hard you fight it, lol. Just do it!!!

Lisa :)

Sounds expensive.... I like it!

Also have to remember that this is the wife's DD :blackeye
I have 2 DD's to choose from, my JKU and my G35 coupe. It like night an day between the two, I feel like Jeckyl & Hyde. Lol, if I sell the G35 and get the Grand Cherokee at least there will be a little more consistency. Too bad I can't make the commitment to sell it yet, I love my little slot car :)

Well my phone didn't update the posts before I responded, congrats on the 35"s :)

Lisa if you wait long enough Jeep will be making sports cars too ... There is already talks in circulation saying that Fiat's next idea for Jeep is to directly compete against the Impreza
My thinking is if I wait long enough mike will just give up on me selling it and just buy the Cherokee, lol.

Probably not going to happen though :)

Im excited! It feels like christmas. I have to leave tomorrow to work in norcal for a couple weeks. So when I come back I will have a front bumper and 35" bfgs waiting for me. The wait will be excruciating -_-
Not going lie, the wait will really suck. Lol

No I have a sahara. I wont be doing heavy rock stuff. But 35s still sound like a dark path unless I reinforce some stuff. So I will get 33s maaaybe lookin into 34s. Thanks man. I can't wait to get outa bed and look at my jeep in the light
Don't worry about 35s and a D30, you'll be fine. There's so many JKs running 37s and a 30, just install chromo axles and gusset the Cs. The 30 is no worse than a 44, since their the same size from the center section out. Same tubes, same knuckles, same inner Cs, same outer stub axles, same unit bearings. Then by the time you want to change it, you'll hopefully saved enough to buy a Pro Rock or Currie.

I keep hearing about c gussets and ball joints. I'm going to look into that after I get my tires on. Thanks brotha.

So we're on our way to havasu and I take a little nap. I just woke up and were at Peggy Sues. I was worried Mike forgot we have the boat and not the Jeep, until he tells me he wants breakfast here tomorrow so we will stay the night here. Sounds like a good plan to me, it's only a couple miles out if our way :)
