Lets try and keep this Mod happy and kid friendly.:punk: A place to hang out and talk jeeps, family, work, whatever. Watch the language and topics so we don't get shut down.:nonono: If you decide to do a run then post a new run thread so this doesn't get cluttered. And above all keep it fun.

Good thing I'm a true libertarian which means I would die for your right to disagree with me. As far as doing right Americans don't have the guts to do what is right anymore. Last time Americans had that was the battle of Athens. Some may argue the Oklahoma City I don't agree with that.
The way I'm reading you...or at least the things you've said here today. You "would" stand up for my/others rights but only "if" it works out in your favor.
As for America's and having guts to do the right thing...I feel most people intend to do the right thing it's just that today's society and socialism gets in the way making it easier for people to just go with the flow. I also feel that that's why most "regular" people in this state don't vote.
But just to clarify these are only my options and mental to be taken as such.
Thanks

Not quite. Let's change this up and say 3 politicians. One says I'm closing johnson valley to jeeps. One says I'm not closing johnson one says I'm not only going to not close johnson valley but it be a place of anarchy. Now let's say tree huggers make up 45% of the vote and vote to close JV and 40% vote to keep it open then there is me saying I want anarchy and won't vote any other way and I make up 15% of the vote.
Come Election Day we all voted what our hearts told us and you and me are out of JV. Now would it not be better if I compromised and said well maybe anarchy is not the way to go. Combine your 40% and my 15% and keep JV open? That's what I'm saying.

My Mom's class reunion was a couple weeks ago, my Dad got drug along as he hates those type of functions. She graduated in San Jose. I asked him if he was excited about going, knowing I'd get some sarcastic, crap answer, lol. He said, "Not really, I got told I can't talk guns, hunting or politics, only fishing and the weather :( I sure wish I hadn't quit drinking just for nights like this" Haha, he looked so sad it was hysterical!

Hi Guys.
Still here in Hemet spending time with mom. I have been following along and just lurking. Mainly because i am pretty deep in thought a lot. This experience has taught me some important things. The biggest is that when it is all said and done what you have left is your memories and having those you love around you. We are spending our time reliving old road trips and funny experiences. I don't care that my mom was a liberal and that I am just a bit to the right of Atilla the Hun. Not that voting isn't important because it is such a special right we have here in the states. Our memories are making us have a magic time.. I am saying that we need to go make special times with the ones you really love and treasure them. You never know when they will be all you have left of them or them of you. Life is so fragile. I am really going to pour myself into my kids and grandkids when this is over. I have so much to do in a short time. I have a lot to make up for. I will be wheeling and maybe some camping. We will see what happens. I want to really reconnect with friends and family. I guess that my time as a gloomy gus is over. Mom is getting anything she wants to eat. So dinner was a big bowl of Blue Bunny Ice Cream with chocolate sauce. She refused to eat hospital food. The doc said anything was better than nothing. So she gets ensure, some Corned beef hash with egg for breakfast. Popeyes chicken and meat lovers pizza. She may actually have put on a pound or two. But she is getting weaker. If your praying people I could use some this way for my little mommy.
Thanks

Bob I learned that making the best of this life is most important after talking with my father Inlaw whom just past of cancer. He told us not to get hung on the small stuff like work or bills. Focus on family. Make as many memories as possible. His biggest regret was not spending more time with grand kids.

One of my few surviving friends from high school told me way back then that one of the primary objectives in life was to make memories, so we will have something to share when we are too old to make any new ones. Trust me when I say that I took his advice to heart, and have made enough memories for at least a half a dozen normal people.

A shy asked me once.

When you leave the sheriffs department what will be your legacy ?

My response was my work how I do my work.

He responded why? Your just a number in the county. You think anyone will remember you when you retire? Your legacy is your family, your kids enjoy them while you can and while they are young.

Best advice I ever got.

Ok, what I believe to be the very best advice I ever got, was from a man who had been happily married for some 50 years. He told me "if you want your wife to be the queen of your life, you need to know that she is, and treat her accordingly" She is, and I do. Our marriage just keeps getting better and our friendship stronger 22 plus years later. Needless to say, the strength of our relationship has spread to our children.
