Tire Size Question

Hello - can anyone advise on what the max tire size I can go to without lift, mod to fender etc? I am now at P225/75/16, and zeroing in on some KM2's. There are OEM size LT 225/75/16 but thinking I should go at little wider, e.g. 235, 245?

Any advice is welcomed.

I believe on your 08 you can do 31's easy and 32's if you don't wheel hard on your stock wheels. If you go to a shallower offset with either spacers or new wheels at 4 inch or 3.75 and do some trimming on the fenders you can do 33's easy and maybe 35's if you don't wheel hard.

This is about right. You can do 33's if you don't wheel it much and/or disconnect the sway bar.

I did 33's with no lift for about a month or so. Even without disconnecting the sway bar, it would rub the fenders off road. You could still do it if you don't mind the rubbing. It won't break anything.

If you don't want rubbing and want to disconnect, 32's would work. If this is the case, stock Rubi take off wheels would be good. They're 32" BFG MT.

If you're planning to lift and might want larger wheels WAIT UNTIL YOU LIFT. I got 33's, lifted, got 35's about 9 mos later...

I see you are in California. Unfortunately, larger tires have been found to cause cancer in California and because of that you are not able to run larger tires. Sorry!

I'm trying to find some new rims and tires for my 05 jeep, but not real sure on the size... I have 33" x 12.5" R15 on it right now , but I'm wanting to lean for toward larger rim, like a 18" or a 20".

Honestly, when I first redid my tires and suspension I put on some 20's on with Nitto Grapplers. I absolutely hated it within months. Unless you're looking for a "DUB" look... Steer clear of anything bigger than 18's. since then I got a pro-comp set up with 17's and some Xtreme AT's. couldn't be happier on and off the trail!

Those big rims are heavy and if you off road your going to loose sidewall height. On the hwy it wont matter.
