Some of you have been wondering where I’ve been. It appears I have ruptured a disk in my back. I should be hearing from a Neurosurgeon today. Looks like I won't be able to do anything but have back surgury at this point. It’s affected my entire left side of my body; which is numb. My chiropractor told me he’s never seen a rupture this bad. Just my luck right? I never do anything half mass! :nonono:

For all of you who know me, you know I WILL BE DYING not being able to wheel for a while. Just got my Rock Hard sliders put on too! Tummy tuck and steering box skid are going on Saturday. I’m totally bummed about this, but I will be living vicariously through you all. As soon as I am able, I’ll be back on the trails. This will be just a little set back.

Go on lots of runs and post up pics! I want to see all the fun and silly times you guys are having! I will be there in spirit!

Lorie, this is your fault!!

So I have just short of decided that next year after I recover from my daughters wedding, I'll upgrade to 35's and possibly 4.88 gears. Not too sure on the gear size but from what I remember, 4.88s are a good size for 35s. Also plan to upgrade the rear shafts and get new fenders--then whatever else I break from not to then. Possibly a tummy tuck as well...Oh man, maybe some long arm control arms...I can see this getting out of control. :banghead:

I'll be having Stan (JPi) do the work for me, cause I don't have a boyfriend that owns his own tranny shop for me to barter with.

I just went to 4.88s with 35s and the 6 cylinder and I couldn't be happier. :punk:

That's for sure. For a while there, I was strappin and winching someone out of trouble almost every trip out. I'm not a big fan of some of Smittybilt's stuff, but that winch has definitely come through when needed.

Hey, I posted that run thread with a description and some pics. I'm not expecting a big group because of the terrain and distance out this way....even if it's just a few of us, it'll still be a great time. It's a really fun trail.

Those of you that know him will appreciate this...

Turns out Dave is about the ONLY person I know who can go to the DMV and end up making a bunch of friends. :punk:

We had an appointment but got there early anyway and ended up being the first ones in line. But while we waited, Dave went around and said "Hi" to everyone, asked everyone what their name was and told everyone to "HAB A GUD DAY."

I did not think anything of it as I was focused on paperwork, payment and the photo.

When we left and had to weave our way through 60-70 people still waiting in line it was pretty heart warming to hear about a dozen of them call out to Dave and say, "Bye Dave, have a good day, nice meeting you.":punk:

:nonono: NOOOoooooooo

Who makes a good hi steer? Im asking first because if i buy first then some one will come on an say .. you should of got .. or you could of done ... so this way will just get this out of the way . ok guys what one is the best one?
So true! :rofl::rofl: :p

I take it your going to be installing it on a unit bearing Dana 30?
If so....do you want just the high steer brackets so you can reuse what you already have...or do you want complete knuckles along with new links?
These are the brackets from JB4x4 at $150.....and Terra Flex makes a good complete kit for around $600
Hope this helps
Steve...
So Steve..I don't know much about this kit..new to me..but I'm assuming someone who wheels a lot and does the bigger rocks, and not so much trail riding, would want the whole set up?? Smarter choice?

I'm doing the chromoly axles, super u joints and locking hubs set up this weekend..it's a seperate gig and I don't need to worry about anything not fitting etc? What about size of the lift on a rig? Matter?

#6,283 ·
Well is have to say that the complete kit in the long run is the better way to go....as long as the new knuckles are compatible with your new hub kit....I can't see why they wouldn't be though...
And $600 isn't to bad of a price for a kit....
Here is a pic of the bracket from the $150 kit installed on your current knuckle

She'll knock them dead with her knowledge. It's all she's ever done. I've watched her get business travelers out of Mongolia on a moments notice when they've missed their flights. They may end up spending an extra 10 hours in the air making alternate connecting flights, but she always gets them where they need to be. Lol
