Exactly Lorie...with a focus on sports.

Lucky for him, our neighbor's son (David) works for a big company doing the very thing he wants to do and we got Danny to approach him to get advice. As it turns out he now has a foot in the door with the company that David works in as an intern when he is ready.

More job opportunities are made through networking than from just being good at what you do.

It's like everything these days. It's not what you know, It's who you know.

Sooo..thinking of going back into the Navy, but as a Reservist. Been thinking about it for a while. Won't have to go through Boot Camp again, so that's good. Am going to look into cross-rating..hopefully I'll be able to keep my Rank from when I was in before. We'll see what the recruiter has to say..

Why? Not a sarcastic why but why? As in what are you looking to gain from that? What would the benefits be?

Tons of benefits...but the main reason is I miss feeling like what I do matters. And I've always had huge pride in doing my part to protect our freedoms and rights. Regretted getting out and if I have a chance to come back in, I just may. I waited because I sort of need to stick by home, so with the war over for the most part, my chances of being deployed for months are slimmer than before.

Right now my prior Military time counts towards my retirement as a GS Gov Employee..I'm not sure how it all works...I'd imagine I'd revert back to Military time. One of the things I need to ask the recruiter. Either way, I have retirement pay coming.

Yea...need to decide. Between my prior service and age, I think I have to be back in by Sept; so I get my 20 in by age 60.

And I want to cross-rate into something I can either blow things up with or drive over stuff. I'm not willing to continue to park jets.

The girl that house sits for me is an Army Reservist. She got back from Afghanistan 2 years ago and then went through the police academy here. She's been working for Mike for a few months while waiting to hear from the Sheriff's dept.

It works great for her, she goes evey 5-6 weeks for a 4 day weekend of training and then comes home. She's single and currently lives at home so no real responsibility other than work and house sitting for me

I hope you plan on walking, maybe it would be safer than riding your bike
