Some of you have been wondering where I’ve been. It appears I have ruptured a disk in my back. I should be hearing from a Neurosurgeon today. Looks like I won't be able to do anything but have back surgury at this point. It’s affected my entire left side of my body; which is numb. My chiropractor told me he’s never seen a rupture this bad. Just my luck right? I never do anything half mass! :nonono:
For all of you who know me, you know I WILL BE DYING not being able to wheel for a while. Just got my Rock Hard sliders put on too! Tummy tuck and steering box skid are going on Saturday. I’m totally bummed about this, but I will be living vicariously through you all. As soon as I am able, I’ll be back on the trails. This will be just a little set back.
Go on lots of runs and post up pics! I want to see all the fun and silly times you guys are having! I will be there in spirit! Lorie :wavey:
Keep me in the loop! We'll need to leave NLT 0600 to get there on time. We'll get gas off Bear Valley Road before we meet them, so make sure you have a full tank when we leave.
OMG!!! I'm jonesing so bad to get back out to JV right now. I can taste the rock dust. But then again, I haven't wiped it all out if the heap yet either. Lol
I'd love to go but I'm saving right now for my winch and my bumper. I'm on a fixed income and we just did some stuff to the house. I had already rented the cabin and dave and linda have scheduled in that run with us. I just don't think I can afford to do both. Although I might be able to do a day trip. I'll have to look into that.

Gawwd..sleep until 0600 and then nap at 1100..just waking up...ahhh life is good on a rainy day Only 1 more week before I have to go back to work
Bob, I actually use my 5th gear every now and then. In fact, used it quite a bit coming back from JV. My jeep easily does 65 mph in 4th gear..it's when I start hitting 70+, that's when I stick it in 5th.

Just something to think of. A Novak conversion allows you to keep your 2.72 t/c. It eliminates the AX5 and replaces it with a way way stronger SM420 4 speed. This trans has a 7.02 low crawling gear. That gives you a 87 to 1 crawl ratio in granny low. http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/adapters/engine_to_transmission/kit_b150gm.htm

SM420 gear ratios. 7.02, 3.6, 1.77, 1.00 X 2.72 X 4.56 Crawl = 87 to 1
AX5 3.93 x 2.33 x 1.45 x 1.00 x .85 X 4 X 4.56 Crawl = 71.6 to 1
4th gear would be identical.
Hey Lorie, Ya I did not mean to hijack Stan's thread either.
I was following your thread here, I must have missed the CB run on the 9th. I presume this is Feb 9th??
Where is the meet, time, and other info, if you don't mind repeating.
No worries! It's really easy to hijack and I try to be aware of when it's happening b/c I don't like it when it happens to me
I don't think I actually posted info..we all were just talking about it. It's not a run I'm leading this time. It's actully being lead by my friend at MJR. Here's the link: Trail Run Do R Die II - Cougar Buttes
I'll be leaving Ventura at 0600 to get there by 0930. Let me now if you have more questions...be great to meet you!
You know what though? I wasn't the least uncomfortable on any of the stuff we did on Monday. The spotting was that good. Those guys really know their way around out there. Can't wait to do it without them and get lost. Lol
I think I could get us through Bullfrog and Cakewalk. They're pretty well marked. And that little mountain range they wind through isn't that big. Just head Southwest and you'll hit Old Woman Springs Road eventually. Lol
If only...someone were to invent a device that could help us through these trails. So, when we do get lost we would knew where she (sorry, I mean "we") need to go to correct our course.

Bob, that's a good alternative, but how often do you lose signal out on the trails? And how does that workout when you do lose the signal? Both Vanessa and I have an iPhone and she has an iPad too but we haven’t used it with that new App.
It's on my list..but now that I'm pinching every penny for this Atlas, I won't be buying anything anytime soon. Going to leave it up to my boys to take care of us!
