Howdy folks. Been off line most of the day. Did White Mountain with an old friend and a couple of new ones today. Great way to spend a weekday.

Hi Hellen. I noticed you wsnt to modify and were asking about Lories axle. It is a great deal. That axle and gears some 33" tires and a simple cheap 2" budget boost would get you through yellow jacket no problem.

How would that effect the fuel economy? With 35 tires and a about I think if i remember right 4 inch lift the fuel economy drops from about 15/16 what I have now down to 12/13 or so.... How would the 33 tires play that out?

Im on 35s get 17 on hwy and 15 in city. About 10 when Im wheeling. The bigger and better you build it for off road the worse it is going to be on road. Just the way it is. I have an auto locker in the rear so my tires chirp on the street all the time. At lesst w that ARB in Lories axle your jerp will still have good road manners.

Is someone with a Wrangler concerned about fuel economy? Bwahahahahahahaha!!!! If I get 15 mpg on the highway, and gas costs $10.00 a gallon, I don't care. I'm still driving my Jeep. Lol

... I hear you.....

I think, having happy modified will make him awesome for off roading and just cut down gas mileage by some. But you know what, that's why they invented Gerry cans...

With the set up you described Rich, she could do Big Bear & Calico as well. Albeit with a little scraping here and there.

REPOST FOR HELEN--

My axle is being is being stored at a rear end shop right now. BUT, I need to go get it. If you want it, I need to know so I don't drive an hour and a half one way for nothing.....and then YOU"D have to worry about getting it back to a shop for install.

The shop it's being stored at only does rear end work and a D35 for a D35 should be fairly easy for them. They've been in that location for almost 30 years.

I paid close to $2000 after it was all said and done.....and that's only parts; not including installation.

30 spline shafts for the axle, 4.56 gears, ARB and Riddler diff cover

I'm selling it for only the cost of the ARB which is $900.

I also am selling the front gears for $100...so you wouldn't need to pay retail on those either...and if you get the axle, you will need the front gears, as you need to run the same gears front and rear.

So the bottom line is the rear axle is $900 and the front gears are $100 = $1000 for everything.

For that, you're getting a Super D35 with 30 spline shafts, Locked with an ARB Locker, Riddler diff cover for protection and 4.56 gears front and rear. THAT is a good deal.

All you'll need to do is get a compressor to run your locker.

You go to an axle swap like me or even just a D44..you're looking at more than twice of that PLUS shipping and handling...and then labor...which would be Way more.

Someone else called yesterday from the 909 area code..he sounded very interested. If you want this, you should buy it. It might sell with this last guy.

He'd be better off if he'd been doing what the doctor told him to do last time he was there...prob take him a stroke or heart attack and serious time in the hospital and/or loss of the ability to drive his rig before that happens.....then it'll be to late..we've been lecturing him about it for well over a year now...

You can lead the horse to water...................

It will fit. Straight swap. Any shop or garage near you should be able to do it.
