Holy Crap! SO glad she's OK..wow Bernie..that could be a lot worse..with hospital bills too! And a broken Melanie! She's Very lucky! HATE LA!

Hows that for precise measuring, lol. When I bought the oil at the dealership he said front was 1.36 and the back was 2.33, that was for stock covers and he sold me 4 quarts. Aftermarket take a little bit more according to pinky measuring.
Exactly correct amounts, and dont over fill the front or you will have gear oil running out your vent line near the front left shock.

Bernie, first, I'm glad to hear she's okay. And if the insurance company doesn't want to total it, and you do, then bring it to Calico, and I'll take it for a run up Odessa. Whoop Whoop!!!

Thank you guys, I just found out she chipped a bone on her foot and other than that she should be fine. Now I need to go to Kaiser in Riverside to bring her home. The Dr. doesn't want her to be driving with the splint that she will be sporting.

I will need more wine again this evening...Lol

Update: not a chipped bone, as it turns out she broke her foot.

Thank Bob. She really scared me when she called me, as those of us that have kids would know, you could hear it in their voice when something is wrong even before they tell you.

Just trying to be helpful. Lol. As long as she's not hurt, or at least badly, you can laugh after. The car is replaceable, the kids not. Besides, can you imagine raising another one now? No No No!!! And laughter helps healing.

Love you guys.

Thanks Stan, I took notes at the parts counter and the guy laughed at me The covers look awesome and went on really easy. I love them!!!

I was surprised how dirty the back fluid was, the front was sparkly clean. We got the hooks installed on the bumper for the tow bar and got it all set up. Didn't even need an additional drop for the hitch, it's perfectly level

Bernie, I'm so sorry your daughter was hurt. Thank goodness it will heal up and she will be okay. My daughter has the exact same car, they are amazingly safe for a small car.

Good luck with the car and insurance, Mazda's hold value very well so maybe this won't be to much hassle.

Thank you Lisa, I checked KBB and it's worth about $9,300. Hopefully the damage is not to were they would deem it a total loss. She got hit quite hard from the back end, I pray that the frame didn't get damaged.

Sorry Bernie to hear about this. I'm glad that she is ok with only a broken foot. Everything else is replaceable. I know how you feel. I drove once all the way to Phoenix when my daughter called me.
All the best.

Joe.

Depending on the insurance co., some use a % of damage cost to KBB. I know when I worked at the body shop there were quite a few cars we repaired that shocked me. It was due to the ins. co. and what they're policy was.

I would browse online and the paper for the same make and model prices. Sometimes you can negotiate the actual sale prices vs. KBB prices with the ins. We did that on the TJ Mike totaled, we ended up getting back $2,000 more than we paid for it, lol. Good luck with it.

Well my Daughter got her removable cast on her foot yesterday. She has Dr.'s orders to not work for three weeks do to she works retail at Macy's.

She might come out with Vanessa and I to Calico, this would be her first time out wheeling with daddy! I may have to behave if she does come out with us...

Bernie I am so glad she is OK. She ought to come out. Lories runs are epic. I only did one and it is now what I measure everything else by. All the chatter and fun going on. She will have a blast. Little tan munchkin with devil horns and a tail wailing music off the walls of the canyon. I really had a great time.

Thank you Bob.

I will do what I can to make sure she does go out, I would like my wheeling friend to meet one of my (ok--OUR, Vanessa did play a role in this) best accomplishments.

So sorry Rob...from now on Family, not friend[s]. The missing plurality in friends was unintentional. Either way, you know you were included in the use of "friend," right?

He probably did mean friend rob, as in he's only gonna let her meet one of us, he's to embarrrsed about the rest of us lol. He will probably only let her meet my girlfriend, since she's the only sane one out of the rest of us lol
