If you hear of anything, let me know... I just picked up a YJ two weeks ago and wouldnt mind getting together with some SD people this weekend. Im up in Vista, CA 92083 and arent aware of any local trails. Ive been up to Orange County (Trabuco Canyon) a few times with my Xterra, but its really not worth the trip...
There was a trail that I did once down near the border that was interesting, but that was years ago. Hell, I dont even remember what the name was. And it may be closed now as we had a run in with Border Patrol while we were there and they didnt like us being out there.

Here you go, still open. They even warn about Border Patrol...
I might be able to get together Saturday if you wanted to give this a try. Its a very simple trail, I dont even recall ever using 4wd when doing it.

Corral Canyon, Pancake Rock and Smuggles Cave (Valley of the moon) in Jacumba are about an hour or so east from San Diego. Further east is Azna Berrego/truckhaven and Superstion mountain by El Centro. Its kind of hot right now though. I would make a trip out to Big Bear this time of year its worth the drive.

We will have to hook up in the future and go wheeling. I also live in 92083. I would check out Corral Canyon its off the 8 about an hour and a half east. This weekend I am going to Big Bear on the 7 oaks run in this forum.

I heard about those once but couldn't find it I thought it was called the San Marcos trail or something like that.

There are some trails off of Deer Springs and the 15 behind the arco gas station. There is a coldisack at the end of the road next to arco and that is where the trails start. Check it out on google maps.
