Excuse my language but screw them. I live in Ventura County and most places are restricted. But I find ways into all the old spots and even new spots. I have a good time, and I never cause anyone harm. If something is fenced off due to someone tilling for crops, Im staying out. But if its closed up because the local douchebags are shooting dope, I'm breaking in. Sorry this just makes me angry, Ive watched places get smaller and smaller over the years, ill never forget when my dad and I rode up on our old favorite trail in the desert to find it fenced off to preserve the natural habitat of the local desert tortoise. I can appreciate the damn tortoise, but really? hundreds of thousands of acres closed for 30 turtles. Keep it punk rock brother

I understand the frustration but this type of mentality is why they close down areas and continue to close more areas after they find people continuing to enter fenced areas and drive around in there. Just my .02 on the issue
P.S. While Obama signed the bill, I blame Senator Feinstein 99.99% for it. She's the leading far-left liberal anti-offroading politician in California who chooses to spend too much of her time causing problems for off-road recreationalists.
Despite how you feel about natural resources, this is a sign of the times and unfortunately a neceesary evil as a few bad apples etc.....and they aren't all "off-roaders".
Our world is being dumbed down for all for the actions and/or benefits of a few but good citizens obey the laws and restrictions they do, as well as dont agree with.
Quote from CORVA page : The monuments are a travesty that accomplish nothing in our desert other than take away access from hard-working people. How will this affect us? There is a caveat to all of this. A new management plan has to be enacted for each one of the monuments. Nothing will be changed until the management plan is completed, and it is a public process. This is NEPA - something CORVA understands best. We need to get involved to make sure that we thwart all efforts to eliminate access. This is not only doable - but necessary. Any questions?: Losing access to public lands is a constant battle, we do not need more wilderness. Supporting an organization like CORVA help fight the battle to keep access open so we can use trails in national monuments lands. Join CORVA today.
Somis, you have that "I'm a bad ass" entitlement attitude so prevalent with youth today. I can tell you to put yourself in someone else's shoes, what if YOU had property closed off and caught someone on YOUR property? Probably be just a bit ticked. Instead, I'll leave you with the nugget of "There's always somebody bigger and badder" and who cares about you even less than you care about them.
I hope your attitude changes on your own and doesn't get knocked out of you by some gun toting tweaker guarding his property.
Folks with attitudes like yours are what gives the rest of us a bad reputation.
Let's get back to the real issue .... From CORVA page...Most of the members in this group are not members of CORVA, yet you want us to fight for your rights! We have great attorneys, great board members and people willing to stand up for you - but we can't do it without funds. We NEED every $30 membership to fund our fight - so if you like what CORVA stands for, help us do more! For $30 you can show what you are made of - do you want to fight, do you want CORVA to fight? Join now: Loosing access to our lands is happening every day, you can sit around and complain about it or do something about it !!Walk the walk www.corva.org
New to Jeeps, but old to camping, backpacking, and enjoying the outdoors. While the majority of us behave, it is the few that trash the places they go, get areas closed off, and are forcing the planned usage and roadway rules we are seeing.
Sorry to be an ass. My family owns a combined total of 3500 acres, and hell yes I would be pissed. I wasn't talking about private property, I was talking about old spots around town that are County owned, and speaking of BLM closures of the desert. I live in a fairly rural area so I might have a different perspective but I'm not the guy who's breaking into a housing development or onto anyone else's private property. I always show the most respect I can and never mean to harm anyone.
I'm mainly speaking of river bottom Creek beds and stuff like that, stuff that gets closed down because some jerky gets stuck and gets caught.
Sorry to get off topic I just felt I needed to apologize for coming off the wrong way and giving the wrong impression of myself. I have a fairly good compus and was raised with morals. Everyone who thinks I'm the bad guy, I'm just the person who's willing to blaze the new trail, that's all.
