Trails in or around yosemite

Hello all,
So i'm talking a family vacation this sunday for a week to bass lake in Yosemite and was wondering if anyone knew of any 4 wheeling trails in the area within or around bass lake, Probably up to around 2 hrs away maybe a little further. If anyone knows of any please let me know as ill be driving the jeep up. My Uncle and I have been wanting to wheel and its been way to long since i've gone.
Thanks

There are a lot of trails around the area. Down by Mammoth there is Wheelers Ridge Mine Road, Laurel Lakes and McGee Mountain just to name a few and there is a bunch more in between.

Love Bass Lake! If you've never been...its gorgeous. We've never wheeled so I can't help you there- but if you're camping make sure to be bear-proof. We had a major bear problem last year. A mama bear and 2 cubs walked right onto our campsite while we were eating at the picnic table. Between us yelling and our Dobie advancing she left immediately- but she came back every night afterwards. We didn't exactly get much sleep. Oh- and she knocked a 50 lb. container right off the top of our cooler and opened it right up to get to our food. We put our cooler in our truck every night after that- I doubt an open Jeep will cut it.
We always rent a 25 ft. patio boat from Miller's Landing. Its fun to putz around the lake and the boats have little gas grills. Bring some hot dogs and beer- great way to spend the afternoon. (Or dogs- they are allowed on the boats). Miller also has pay-showers if you need to clean up if you're camping.
PLease make sure to post up the trails that you hit. We've never been there with the Jeep but we plan to remedy that this year if we can.

Oh ya been a lot actually, at least 22 years, my family rents a cabin right on the lake so we have our own dock. It is gorgeous out there. First year i've had a jeep so i'm excited to take it up with me. Will take lots of pics for ya.

There are several trails up in that area. We have done a few of the easier ones like Fresno Dome and several off shoots from there. Iron Lakes, Quartz Mountain and Sugar Pine. We found the information for those in the book - California Trails, High Sierra Region. ISBN 978-1-930193-21-5 .
Our family has a cabin just above Bass Lake and look forward to doing more wheeling up there soon. Hope you and your family have a great time!

Here are vids & pics from that weekend - Fresno Dome & Surrounding Trails

Wow just realized we still had street tires then LOL! Like I said we did the easy trails.

Is that your family's cabin or one your family rents from someone else? We're looking to rent a cabin (to avoid bears) this time so if you rent yours/found a good one to rent can you PM me?
Thanks!

Here is a link for the Wheeler Ridge Mine Road.

Here is a link for Laurel Lakes.

McGee Mountain is just south of Convict Lake and is a very steep narrow road that includes many switchbacks.

Its our family's cabin not one we rent. There are tons of rentals in that area but not this one.
Maybe try calling a local real estate agent? They might be able to point you to some great deals.

Thanks! Will do. I really want a cabin- not a house. Four walls and a roof are all I want but we can't find one in Bass Lake. Ah well, our friends have offered to let us use their pop-up. I'll have to map a route with gas stations marked off and possibly take out a loan to pay for the gas. LOL.

There are A few trails up by Bass Lake, check out Whiskey Falls snowmobile area. Moderate trails but a lot of fun. Google whiskey falls and you'll get the directions.
