Thanx
Thanks VERY much for mentioning those dates Steve, October is certainly going to be a busy month.

And PLEASE folks, as Steve mentioned, the 10/18-19 Operation Desert Fun event I posted a thread earlier for is something I hope we can all support. It is a charitable 4x4 fundraiser event for US military veterans who have some form of paralysis. We usually have 5-6 paralyzed military veterans who show up to show their thanks, we should do the same for them by registering for, even if you can't make it, this worthy charitable/tax deductible event...

Here's a link to that thread... SOCAL 4x4 Fundraiser event for disabled US military veterans... Operation Desert Fun!

Uh, here's a question I wouldn't normally ask but it's important to my realtor wife if she is going to go... is there good solid cell phone service at 7 Oaks? She gets a lot of her calls on the weekend & she probably won't go if she is completely out of touch. We have Sprint if anyone knows specifically about Sprint coverage there.

Jerry, we have AT&T and the service is there but not at every site. I wouldn't depend on it there. Verizon seems to work ok

Stan, I just remembered you had already posted 7 Oaks' cellphone number earlier so I just called them. The man who answered was really a nice guy & basically told me there is coverage there for both Verizon and Sprint... so we're golden. I checked their zip code with Sprint's website & it indicated solid coverage but you know how that can be in mountainous terrain. So that is encouraging, still not sure if she'll go or not but I'm trying.

Thanks Stan!!

P.S. For anyone who needs it, the street address for 7 Oaks Campground/lodge is 39950 7 Oaks Road, Angelus Oaks, CA 92305.

So long as it's not the same weekend as my club fundraiser Stan I plan to be there. It looks really nice... and a restaurant? Nice.

Another early October birthday here, 10/7. I'll be out of town the weekend of the 18th-20th for my sister's wedding, but if there's something going on during the first two weekends of October, I'm game...

One other weekend possiblity that would make for a difficult decision for me is the big annual Offroad Expo in Pomona October 5th & 6th.

I REALLY want to go to that Expo this year, I have had to miss it the past 2-3 years.

OK, so I am thinking that the first weekend of October is best for me. So how does the 4th through 6th. I plan to call and make a reservation for a site on Friday.

Stan, since you have camped there several times, what area do you think is the best for our group? Hope this date works for everyone as I appreciate spending time with as many WF members as possible.

Jeff

Jeff, last year Dans bus fit pretty well in the 20-25 spots, and if we fill that area, no one will complain about our antics and noise, while all with RVs that aren't 40' long will fit near the bar and store area. Hopefully we can fill the whole place!

I'll have to check Mikes hunting schedule and hopefully we can make it. I'm betting those spots next to the bar are the first to go

So October 4-6 is the official date, correct?

Just want to be sure before I check with Mike. Of course we will probably go up before and stay a day later like we did at Big Bear, it makes the drive a little more worth it

Ok, did not realize the off road expo was that weekend. So, I will change the date to the following weekend of the 11th - 13th.

Poor Jeff, you are in a no win situation on dates....just like the meet & greet....someone was going to be left out...At least you cleared the wounded Warrior event and the off road expo....I didn't read back, but I think every weekend had someone it didn't work for....

My calendar looks open for that weekend and I can still go to the Off Road Expo as well, so we are in!
