Location: Under the hood of the jeep from hell (not mine)
Can't make it, fundage just too low right now. Lots of pics please.
If there's a will, usually there's a way, but then you get to that bolt that you still can't get to with two extensions, two universal sockets, and a contorsionist midget trying to help you.
1999 XJ Four door, mostly stock for now, but I am in the process of building a custom plate bumper.
Bens Weather Forecast Updated Thu, Apr 19 @ 10:15
A fairly strong late season low pressure system will move through the area on Friday with colder temperatures, gusty winds and more precipitation. Snow levels could drop as low as 5,000 feet where several inches of new snow is quite possible. Clearing Saturday before a weaker storm moves through on Sunday threatening us with a little more rain & snow. Fair, dry & warmer weather next week.
PLEASE COME PREPARED, extra clothes, water, etc..etc.. weather looks rough this weekend. anyone need a rear tow point for there jeep??? i have a stock rear hook available.
i would also plan on adding another 30minutes minimun to your drive.
Jeep is done, for now. Flares are on. Brake lines done. I got my gears done yesterday, which kind of sucks because I am supposed to stay off the freeway for 500 miles. Driving from Chino Hills to Redlands on surface streets tomorrow afternoon then up the hill. If anybody needs it, PM me for my cell phone or cabin phone number/address.
Who cares about the weather? I'm going wheeling this weekend! Woohoo! Running up the hill in rain and snow with a safari top sounds fun, but I will make a concession and run full doors. Nice thing is that at least we won't be eating dust the whole day Saturday.
I've been listening to the radio and I haven't heard any mention of it. Usually as long as you have a 4WD they are much more lax about it. Sometimes they check and just want to make sure you have some with you but they don't even bother checking the size. Give me a call in the morning and I can let you know for certain.
I don't know, I've never been on Holcomb this close to after a storm. I'm not paticularly worried about it though, we can let one of the big dawgs go through first and see how it looks. If it's too bad we can always turn around and pick another trail. Rawk my be right in preferring to run Holcomb Creek first though as it may surprise us and I'd rather not get stuck on it with almost stock vehicles after dark if its particularly nasty.
I agree completly about doing Holcomb first. I was going to suggest it tomorrow morning. The last time I was on Holcomb, we hit the trailhead at Midnight, ran it east to west, and finished just after 3:30 am. It's a very different trail after dark!
