what cb channel to use in Long Beach

Talking to some of the Long Beach jeepers, we want to keep in touch. I figured we spend so much money on Cb's. Why not use them in the city. Truckers use them in parking lots. Why not jeepers. Channel 3 is a good channel. Anybody have channels them might want to use.

Boy I hope this works for you. I have tried but the CB is full of junk. Never even turn it on in town any more. And in a best case I could only get .5 to .75 mile range with it. If a CB is tuned properly to the antenna your best channels should be 18-22, the worst would be 1 and 40. But that does not take into consideration traffic on the channel.

If you really want to talk to friends via radio get a HAM. I studied for the test with a free app on my cell phone and passed first try. Several of my friends are also licensed. We can talk clearly and un-interupted while miles apart. If we want to use repeaters, well you can easily talk to Japan and England from So Cal on the Win System. Down in LB you guys can hit the Catalina repeater no problem.

My husband and I are both hams! Ham is the way to go.. Only downside is you have to watch your mouth, just no sailor talk!!

He's kj6ywc, Huntington Beach. He's always looking for more hams to run with!
