I have been to Gorman but never done the trails off lockwood valley rd. Every time ive been out to Gorman I want to the Alamo mtn trail but its always closed. Is this the same trail but just in reverse? because from what ive heard Alamo comes out on lockwood valley road. But I am interested in going forsure I am only an hour away. And what are some landmarks or specifics on how to get to the trail head.

If this is the Alamo Mountain trail, are you positive its open?

Not the same trail.

Take the Frazier Mountain Park exit off the 5- only one way to go, west so head west young man....

I have .gpx files for the run if you are interested. Takes you from the Frazier exit and walks ya right into the trailhead and through. Pm me your email.

Won't be able to respond till Sunday due to other commitments but will get them to you before the run.

I'll be calling HV today to confirm Trails 11,112,113 are open; they're on the Gorman side. They were open, and then closed due to the fire. They're very pretty..Huge, fat, tall trees, lots of brush, deer, critters, butterflies and very green. Gorgeous.. There's more out there..you should get a map from the ranger next time you're out there.

If you plan on doing this run with us, we're meeting at my camp or the Flying J. From there, we'll roll to the trailhead of Lockwood.

I'm in for Sat. I still have yet to complete the Miller. However, I'm going to have to hitch a ride on the Yellowjacket.

Yep, just getting back from wheeling. All the pretty trails are open. Miller was closed, but we still had a blast. Great friends Miller will be reopening any minute.

I just got back as well. Me and my buddies went ape shit trying to find something challenging out there because...well you know why! Pleuto or Pleito (i forget the exact spelling) was a fun. 119 was nice with a couple cool little spots. We just drove around all day and night trying to make up for miller being closed but nothing really satisfied me. We stayed at Mutau Flats campground all the way in there. I had never been to any of the trails off of Lockwood rd before but im glad I went and checked out the area, its pretty awesome. Today when we left we hit all the sand washes' down by the ranger station on the 33. Then headed over to ballenger for a little while. All in all I had a blast and cant wait to go back to hit the good trails!

And by the way. I noticed youre in Ventura, i'm right around the corner in Somis. Between Camarillo and Moorpark. If your going back or anywhere coming up let me know i'd love to join.

Ya, no real good rock crawling out this way..we have to drive for it..Calico, Big Bear etc. My crew was pretty happy this weekend..even though Miller was closed. It's all who you're with I'm looking forward to hittin Miller on this run though..the group is growing nicely..should be a blast!

As for joining my runs..just keep your eyeballs open..I wheel every 2 weeks or so and camp every time.

I'm already going through trail withdrawal. And I won't be able to see you guys until August. Damn!!! Jeep's not even clean yet, and I'm feeling twitchy. Lol.

Looks great I watched Crittert drive through Miller a couple of weeks ago in a stock JK with no problems so you should be fine.
