I going to try and make this one. An 08:30 hour start "could" leave time to add in Devils Hole. It's not all that special of a destination, but everybody needs to be able to say they've been there once.
Are you still prone to CB ch 37 Rick? There is usually just a little less traffic up there.
Most obstacles (maybe all) have bypasses. There are easy lines and harder ones. I'd say difficulty is similar to Gold Mtn or Cleghorn. If you have wheeled those, should be fine.
Really nice view since it's essentially a climb up the mountain to Arrowhead.
Sorry Rick but I'm going to have to skip out on this run after all, the monthly meet & greet went on for a few more hours than normal...So it's definitely a no-go for me
Well the FireRoad crew (aka the sissy crew) had a great time! That first obsticle was just a bit too much for us stock'ers! The fire road was tame but there were several obsticals ranging from 'green/easy' to 'black/more difficult' .. we did several of them and hooked up with the Adopt A Trail group that maintains it.. They had to winch one of us (*cough*not*me*cough*) off a pretty rough boulder crawl..
I heard one of you got a few scratches on the side.. hope everyone was ok, and it rubs out easy..

Thank goodness the driver and his passengers were all unharmed, but in his words, he estimated the damage to be in the $10,000 range.
The best part (if there is a best part), was that the tire that popped while they were dragging his rig off that hill, aired up and the Jeep started right up too. As far as I know, he was able to drive it home.

It's on the tow truck was able to finsh up the trail it was me .. Everyone safe the jeep can be replaced
It was a blast. Despite having a flop everyone was safe and everybody pitched in. Two winches on top and Mark on the bottom. We lowered it to the bottom of the climb. When we got it there it flipped on the tires easy peasy and started right up. Both tires filled and He drove it all the way to the finish of the trail. We were only on the second obstacle when it happened. Lots of cool heads and lots of camaraderie. And then to drive the whole rest of the trail was just a blast. Justin had a great outlook and made it a fun trip with all his jokes. All in all a very memorable trip for much more than just an trail accident. It really brought out the best in our Jeep Community. Way to go guys.
Ok so Bread, Salton Sea Walker, & I had the please of carving out our own path/group. We made mole hills out of mountains, or mountains out of mole hills depending on your perspective! Jokes aside, this was my first time out with other jeeps and it was great! It was cool meeting all you guys and I hope we can all do it again. And as far as Bread, and Salton Sea Walker, if you guys are looking for another jeep to go out with let me know. Finally thx to the guys from Don-A-Vee for the rescue!
