Two of us, Ronny/Robby and I split off mid day and headed back. We both had stuff to do and I without a CB, was lost in the comms area. All that's fixed now...

Before my wife left for the weekend with my step mom, she told me to entertain my dad...I'm thinking this should qualify pretty well...:-)

Yeah, should be fun day. The recent heat has made Big Bear seem appealing.

Man oh man i had such a good time. Great trail choice. Loved running it backward. Got to see some drunk trail jockeys haven fun. Big difference from our group. My grandson said he had a blast. He was half asleep because he only slept 2 hours the night before. But I managed to get some "Oh Sh1t" moments out of him. Great trail buddies. Just a wonderful weekend.

Thanks everyone for a great day, and thanks Rick for putting it on. Candy and I had a blast. I really think it helped when I purposely(yea right) took the wrong line coming down that hard down hill to show everyone what not to do. I'm really hoping the fairies come tonight and clean her up for me, and maybe if they have time left, they can start on the jeep. Looking forward to the next one. Mark.

It's always a pleasure wheelin with Mark....heck if our groups not having enough problems you go out and find one that is
Nice work today...especially your purposeful help on that down hill obstacle...

Nice call on he run Rick...JB backwards is a good call once in awhile....just wish that group from Parker thought so....

My dad and I had an absolute BLAST. John Bull for my first official run -maybe not the best choice, but with this group, I could have driven Rubi almost anywhere. These truly are unstoppable vehicles!!!

Rick, great choice and throwing in a few "scenic routes" just added to the fun.

Bill and Mark, always a pleasure following you and your continued education is a welcome addition.

Jen, Adrian, Nick, Candie, Bob, Bob's Grandson, can't wait for our next journey together.

And Dave, the after-trip to Hanger 24 was the icing on the cake to wind down the day. Great choice!!!

What an awesome group and I will post pictures to my photobucket site later today. Gotta go hose off the jeep, inside and out, before it gets hot.

Keep the rubber side down, Ken

I can finally check JB off the list. Had a great time (mostly) and great group as usual. Thanks to everyone (including the Parker group- kindness of random strangers and a tank) for getting me out of a jam. Especially Mark- who I think should get the "Jeeper of the year" award. Looking forward to running JB the "right" way one of these days. After I get bead locks LOL. Here are some photos- haven't had a chance to look at the Go Pro yet- probably not until this week sometime. If anyone has pics of the bottom of the Gatekeeper can you PM a few to me? I'd like to add some pics to the video but we didn't take any pics or video of the last section. (After the "incident".).
(Or I THINK on Photobucket if you send me your email I can add it and "share the story" with you. You can then upload your pics to the same album.)

Great wheeling with all of you yesterday! I do apologize for taking the 'scenic' route...

It was a lot of fun running JB backwards except for the opposing traffic and drunken Arizonans...

I was impressed with our group. We ended up rescuing a few of the vehicles coming at us. At one point near the gatekeeper, I came around the corner and they guy leading the other group (not Arizonans) looked like he was about to have a nervous breakdown. They were wedged and needed a winch in front of them. Mark and Bill helped them out and got them off to the side. The 4Runner had smashed his radiator and will flowing like a siv...

So always have someone with a winch in the front.

I was also impressed with Ken and Nick who I had not wheeled with before. You guys were great and wheeled like pros!

Hope to see you all on the trails soon!

I have pics, will email Jen so she can add to her album.

More later, lunch just got here...

I uploaded all my pics to Jen's album, so take a look. I think the only one I missed was Dja. Sorry Dave, we are all witnesses that you were there.

Thanks for the pictures! On a side note. It is my battery that failed. Having said that, any suggestions on what brand or type battery can handle the bumps and angles?

The optima is not the same quality as they used to be. I believe oddesy manufacturers the die hard. I would say it is equivalent to odessy.

Again, Candy and I had a great time and thanks everyone for the nice words. I always like to help out even if I don't know what I,m doing. Thanks to Adrian, I'm now smarter then a d-ring. I, m in the process of blowing out my jeep, and if you didn't know, it's hot out there. I put a kink in my winchline which is a good thing so I'll be going to synthetic. Just for safety reasons, I should of done this before. And Jen, if you get beadlocks, I'll be jealous. What'd the wife say about the wheels Nick? Happy trails. Mark.

It was a lot of fun. Although I've read it's supposed to be easier going the opposite direction, I thought it was about the same. I really liked going up hill on the west side. Since I've done it a few times starting at the gatekeeper, it was a nice change of pace.
