Ha...surprising not much about the wheels. She did say something about getting a new purse when I told her how much the new Diehard Platinum was going to cost....

How's a new purse gonna help you get up the rocks, unless you throw it under a tire to get traction.

Yea, tell her to call me and I'll explain why all this money we spend on these jeeps is gonna make the world better someday, which by the way I believe, and finally got Candy leaning that direction, so by the way, don't tell her any different. Jeeps are fun. Mark.

Several of us talked about the Teraflex tailgate hinge:
20% off on TeraFlex at Northridge 4 x 4 per an email we got. Discount code is "TERA".
Rear Hinge Tire Carrier would be 471.99 - 20% = $377.59 give or take. NO sales tax plus free shipping over $100. Good deal.

I was gonna recommend the or-fab carrier with the rotopax until I looked at the price. I hope I didn't pay that much.

The TF is separate components- carrier, and hinge. Together they're more than the Or-Fab. Rick already has a Smitty carrier- so he'd just be getting the hinge. TF is the priciest- just depends on what you're looking for.

Yeah, that looks like a good deal! Can I borrow $370? I can come up with the $7.59...

That does looks like the best way for me to go since I already have the smitty carrier. I meant to take a better look at your carrier last Saturday and kept getting side tracked.

Not to throw you off track but I was looking at this rear bumper & Tire Carrier combo from Spyder in Orange. JEEP WRANGLER 07-12**REAR BUMPER & TIRE CARRIER**UP TO 37" TIRE - $425 (ORANGE COUNTY )

07-12 JEEP WRANGLER JK ROCK CRAWLER REAR BUMPER TIRE CARRIER SWING OUT + D-RINGS

The SPYDER Jeep Wrangler JK Rear Bumper is specifically designed for all 2007-2012 Jeep Wrangler JK/JK Unlimited models. Spyders bumpers are all built from a highly durable 3/16" wall steel plate material, with heavy duty 1/4" thick mounting brackets, which can withstand serious off-roading and 4WD abuse!

SPYDER'S Rear JK Bumper includes two (2) 4.75 Ton Silver D-rings that attach to the bumpers mounts which are precision welded from the inside & out for maximum strength & stability while towing or anchoring your Jeep. Your new SPYDER Bumper & Tire carrier is also protected using a durable 2 stage black crinkle powder coating, with a zinc finish so your bumper is sure to last for years to come.

Don't forget- SPYDERS bumper also includes a fully tow capable Class III, 2" receiver hitch which is more than able to tow the heaviest loads your Jeep can handle, and can secure all valuable hitch mounted accessories such as a Dirt bike, Cargo Basket and many other accessories.

Not so sure I would trust this brand. There stuff looks ok, but looks like their stuff is only sold on Ebay and Craigslist. So probably a reason vendors won't carry their stuff. Plus I'm not crazy about anyone that chooses a knockoff name like Spyder -- clearly trying to confuse people into thinking it's Poison Spyder.

It's probably going to be a while before I get around to getting a tire carrier anyway. I'm getting a front bumper next and that will probably be around Christmas. Could get it early if I find a deal at the show in October.

When I do get a carrier, I'll probably end up getting the Teraflex hinge. I also like the OR Fab. Too bad I'm broke right now because someone in the classifieds has the OR Fab for $350.

Their warehouse is in Orange County so I'm going over to check it out. If it is made right with good material, I would rather not pay extra for the brand name. I will also check about warranty.

I found out the company is Truck and Winch out of Santa Ana. They sell multiple brands including the Spyder brand made in China. I might just take a look at their warehouse anyways. They sell ruggedridge and other brands.

I'd stay away from anything made in China. They don't have giant boulders to slam it against for testing... No Rugged Ridge stuff on the website. At least that would be decent.

I looked at their website and only saw Spyder and Smitty. Both would be ok if you're only going for looks, but I wouldn't trust either to hold up to a hit on the trails.

Geesh you guys are impatient; its only been two or three weeks LOL. I'll finish it up tonight.
Onto rear bumpers- this certainly isn't cheap but a great deal.
TAKE OFF Shrockworks Modular Jeep JK Tire Carrier Rear Bumper
Rebel Off Road has some good stuff in "Open Box" right now. Just don't take that silver (actually thinking about black for the heck of it) hood. (By that I mean you, Nic).

R8DRIZED- don't forget that the OffRoad Expo is coming up in October.
Lucas Oil Off Road Expo | Pomona, CA
There WILL be good deals. I saved $100 on my Pure Jeep sliders plus I negotiated free shipping.

I put my new 3/8" x 100' warn spydura rope on my winch today that I bought from amazon for a decent price. It's an impressive looking rope. When I first opened the box, I thought, ain't no way all that is gonna fit on my spool. I'm thinking I should of bought the 80' one. I called warn before I opened everything up and he said it would fit. Wayne(jk4thedirt), was nice enough to come by and give me a aluminum fairlead to replace my roller one(if anyone needs one let me know). I spooled it on under pressure made a bracket for my license plate and I couldn't be happier. I can hardly wait to winch one of you low lifes out of a spot. Lets go jeepin. Mark.

Nice Mark! I did get the warn 3/8 x 80' so glad to see you could fit the other 20' on there. We could have tried it out on Bull last week

Mark, I saw Adrian last night and we talked about this. No he hasn't figured it out and keeps searching forums etc for answers. He has a lot of skills and may put in hydro assist, but would rather figure this out first.

So...finally.
I gave up on music on You Tube so feel free to add your own.
Also gave up on Windows Movie Maker. I have video of Nick, myself and Dave that aren't on this. Post those up this weekend- though Dave I'll probably put yours on a flashdrive for the next time I see you. Rick and Mark- you guys went down first and unfortunately I don't have you on video. I wish we had taken some video or pics of the Gatekeeper/end- though obviously not of a certain flat tire episode.
