No plans to change it yet unless BB is hit by a lot of snow and isn't safe by the time we are going.

So briefly, why long arm over short arm? More articulation? I was wondering about the horizontal shock until Bill explained it's a long arm kit.

I already have some minor pin striping from 2 times at Cleghorn, nothing major though. After seeing all of your Jeeps, I figure it's going to happen. I think Yomondo had the most scratches. Could've just been because he has a Black Jeep like mine. Not a good color for scratches apparently.

Updated to maybe.

Yeah, I have a place in the same parking lot as my work that does work for car dealerships fixing up trades, etc. I talked to the owner and he said they could give me a really good deal on body work if I can pay cash. Looks like I may be taking them up on that in the future.

The plan is to start with Gold Mountain. Supposedly, it's short, so will hopefully have time for another. I don't know the area, so don't know what would be good for the 2nd run, I'm open to suggestions, or we can play it by ear depending on time, etc. If there's a trail that isn't as good for beginners, but all the bad stuff has bypasses, I'd be game for that.

From other threads, I've read, the Big Bear Discovery Center is a good place to meet. Again, open to suggestions if there's a better place.

We should also pick a CB channel. Again, let me know if any channels are less likely to have traffic. Plus, I'll send my cell number to all that say they are going. Not sure how much coverage is up there though.

Look at Dirtopia they have tons of info on BB area! Their rating is a bit understated just ask Coop Holcomb Creek is rated as a easy trail. John Bull is the toughest by far. There are other trails you can pick there is a lot is easy fire trails due to the fire up there 4 years ago and a lot of trails are now tougher for the same reason as by passes are not there due to dozer rock movement to cut fire lines!!

I just looked up Holocomb Creek on Dirtopia and it says difficult:

Holcomb Creek Trail - Dirtopia, the Off-Road Encyclopedia

Then again, it says that Gold Mountain is difficult and many have said that one is easy too.

I'm hoping people that have run trails up there will chime in. I'm up for anything as long as it's somewhat beginner safe. Definitely not interested in John Bull.

Holcomb is one of my favorites. It has two rock gardens that are the difficult parts. This was a few years ago in my TJ. Pics:

i mean we (me and landshark) just got a stocker thru holcomb so if we start early enough we could get to both. ive only run 3 trails up there john bull, holcomb and gold mountain. but i have a book with a bunch of trail we can look at when we meet up. yes that means im coming. goin back to phx the next weekend 24th. i also have a HUGE map of the area with every single road on it. so we can get from A to B
