Been following your post and it looks like the weather will hold out. If you have room for another I would love to get out of town.

FYI - if BB looks like a no go I did Bullfrog in Johnson Valley last week and would be up for leading.

If you're interested in leading our group, only 4 vehicles so far, that would be awesome. I've ran BF a few times and generally get sidetracked.

Sorry not trying to hijack the thread.

I ran it stock in my Rubi a few times and never used my lockers or had assistance. Good spotting and picking the right lines. It's not a bad trail but very fun. It's all about personal comfort level. The video sums it up well. They had stock jeeps running the trail so it's very doable.

I watched that video and think it looks too difficult for a my skill level. I would prefer something more like a trail than rock crawling. Definitely looked harder than Cleghorn.

Since I've only done Cleghorn, that is my only reference. I would prefer something as hard, or easier. More dirt than rocks.

That looks more like it! Unless someone has a better suggestion, Pilot Rock is going to be it.

If some of you guys want to do JV Bullfrog, feel free to start your own thread. I may be up to more Rock Crawling in a year or so when I have some experience. For now, I'm trying to stick to relaxing, scenic, and lower chance of damage.

I'd be interesting in riding shotgun on some of the difficult stuff like John Bull and JV sometime as more of a learning experience. For now, I need to get my rig dirty.

I'll make tomorrow at noon the cutoff for suggesting other ideas. Barring that, Pilot is going to be it.

Well we will be in JV if anyone is interested. Currently only 3 vehicles. If interested PM me and we can work out the details. I plan on running Bullfrog, but don't recall the exact trail so it may be a little exploring.

Works for me, I have run this with Jeff & Coop and its a nice trail. There are a few tough parts, but mostly a nice trail. We can also go on to arrowhead from the same trail head and there are plenty of spurs to keep it interesting...

I am good with Pilot Rock. Fun trail that has off shoots to exciting stuff or by passes if you are too intimadated. If Pilot Rock is the choice, are we starting from the dam or the other end? I have only ran it from the dam, myself.

Yep, the trail has bipasses for anything that you may not get up on the first couple of attempts, or we can give you a tug if needed. Nothing that is too technical.
