Big Bear 2/18?

This will be Pilot Rock and maybe some others if we make good time.

I'd like to keep it somewhat beginner friendly.

CB Channel: 12

See Post #160 for maps.

The plan:
Meet at 9:00 AM
Start at the Silverwood dam off Hwy 173 at the trail head of 2n33.
Take 2n33 on up to arrowhead area ending at the Pinnacles staging area

Directions to this point are 210 or 215 to the 15 north and exit 15 at Hwy 138 and go right (east) to hwy 173 left on 173 to silverwood Dam recreation area and parking lot is at the dam.

So Far:

In
1. Suicideking
2. Billg.otd
3. Schoonover
4. Landshark
5. Turdhurdler
6. JPi1 + 4
7. Plukethe2 + 1
8. Thetoadlj
9. Mntngoat
10. Geocash

Yeah, maybe gold mountain and try to squeeze another in.

What do you suggest Bill? You seem to be the BB expert.

I certainly wouldn't say expert...I still get lost, just ask Coop I thought this was your run? Let me think on this and see who is coming...you called for a medium difficulty trail and that should will not be a problem. BB is the best and if the weather stays nice, we will have our pick of them all!

You'll be fine. I have a sport, so no lockers for me either.

As Coop mentioned, no John Bull this time. Trying to keep it easy to moderate.

I did say maybe and I didn't know it was his first run. Either way that would be a good learning experience. Guess dishpan is out also.

Not really first run, will be the 3rd (Cleghorn twice) though the second time didn't do much because I wanted to wait until I at least had some side rails installed.

Running total so far:

1. Suicideking
2. Mntngoat
3. Billg.otd
4. wego4x4
5. Schoonover

Maybe:
1. 98tj.steven
2. Thephaty

Looks like a good run so far!

JV is a blast. Done it many times stock and with the lift and usually hardly anyone there. In BB I have run into other groups and it's caused the trip to drag sometimes. JV is a huge area and you can do pretty much anything you want. The trails aren't as defined so you can get a little lost. Pretty much something for all skill levels. I'll post up some pics after.

I'll definitely add Johnson Valley to the 'to-do' list.

It seems that there's an overwhelming amount of different areas around that are good for wheeling.

I have been down there several times, but it was before I owned my jeep. We rode bikes, rhinos & quads. There is obviously hardcore wheelin for KOH and Jerry has made several references to it. I dont know how many moderate to Blk Diamond type trails they have. They also have a trail from there to Big Bear that is on my list.
