Sign up with the Tread lightly program and do your research. Once you done that there is zero dealer bullish!t.

Once I had my information it was 30 minutes to order the jeep and once my Jeep arrived it was one hour to sign all the paper work. There was no haggling, no pressure. In and out.

When I bought mine Prestige seemed eager to deal, but you're probably talking haggling.

I ended up with Chapman because they honored the buying plan I was using.

Dr. Tiki's idea sounded like the least hassle, but don't forget Consumer's Reports. They know the dealer incentives so you know what you're really up against and closer to the bone on their costs. You still have to go through the dealership bull but if you REALLY hate it, you might get a perverse pleasure out of hard bargaining if you know most of their cards. You have to send Consumer's Reports about $35 and maybe be a subscriber, but it still might be worth it to double check Tread Lightl's deal.

Least bull may be CostCo or AAA buying plan like I did. It worked out to dealer's invoice + $300. I just told them what I was doing and there was no haggling, but I may not have gotten the best deal since who knows what kickbacks they were getting from Jeep.

We went to Both Vegas dealers and wasn't impressed with all the front end addons that they like to try and force you to buy. We ended up buying ours at Midway down in San Diego. We were also lucky enough to take advantage of Chrysler discount so there wasn't any haggling. If your buying local I would give Chapman an opportunity first.

I had a decent experience with chapman in Henderson - didn't much like the full court press at the other 2 dealers. Just know what you want and where you need to be they are resonable but do watch the add ons. They have been great since the sale as well!! Hope this helps

Ask for Rick from from Chapman in Henderson. He is the club President. Just tell him straight and he will be straight with you.

Thanks for all the comments. Looks like i have to wait 30 days for the certificate from Tread Lightly, but it's worth waiting for, i'll definitely go have a discussion with Rick and get the ball rollin.

thanks again everyone

You will not have to show your affiliation with Tread Lightly until you sign the final paper work. So if you are ordering options, it will probably take a month or so for your Jeep to be delivered, by then the 30 day wait time for Tread Lightly is over.

Ordering takes a $500 down payment (I just wrote a check) but they never cashed it and the down payment is refundable.

Also, check out the "2013 Wrangler Information Thread" and the "2013 JK Order Waiting Room" threads. There is a ton of information available in them and a spreadsheet that will tell you what you will be paying. Go into the dealer with this information and there is no up sell or front end add ons. Armed with the spreadsheet, I knew exactly what I was buying and exactly what I should be paying and I had no issue with Chapman except they never returned my initial e-mails. It wasn't until I went in and talked to them directly that the ball got rolling.

Honestly, It was the easiest experience that I ever had with buying a new vehicle.

X2 on chapman in henderson. I delt with Corey Brewer and got a great deal. If you are looking to get a lifetime warranty go to one of the online sites and get a quote and discount code. That saved me over 1k on the warranty alone.

Prestige sucked, I had to threaten to call the cops because they would not give me my keys back and let me leave after I had my old jeep appraised. Their service dept sucks too, just not enough space for their volume

Thanks for the info on both dealers in town. My friend is buying a new JK next week and we'll go to Chapman for sure now.

Hiding your keys is such an old dirty dealer trick, can't believe Prestige plays that game in this day and age. If their sales department is doing that shit, I would not trust their service department either. They will never get another penny from me or my Jeeping buddies after hearing that and that's a promise.

This is actually a very good thread to keep alive. When folks need a new jeep, service, parts, or other Chrysler vehicles, it is good to know who is good and who is bad.

Sadly that is just how Josh rolls. At least it seems more often than not. I tried buying mine through him as I know the family through work and it was a joke. Usual run arounds so I got my rig down the road for cheaper and a better model. Lol.

Hell, I remember when they had Towbin Jeep off of Sahara and I would go there from time to time when I first moved here and each time something was missing from my vehicle. Nothing big, quarters, mints, gum, magazines. One time my father drove out to see me and his brakes were acting up so we took it there and when we picked it up a couple hours later almost all his change for the tolls back home was taken. It was only around $7 but still.

As for service, if I really have to I use Chapman. Only issue I had there was with my Liberty. I had it pretty well modified and I took my misc part bag out which had the controller for my winch. Well, a few days later I pick up my jeep and the winch cable had been run out and wrapped around the bumper. No idea what they used it for but I was a tad irritated and glad I had the remote in the bag. --That was the only issue I have had there.-- A few guys in another club that I am in are there and they swear they will keep an eye on this rig if I take it in but I try to do all my own work on my vehicles. Might not be an option for you but it is handy to know your way around a rig.

I didn't know that was one of Josh's places. Aaaahh, I see on the bottom of Prestige website it says Towbin...no wonder. Maybe that is where the Blue Weenie is hiding these days.

No offense Rennie, but I believe it is well known by "jeepers" what to expect from your shop. It is sad, in all honesty. The fact of the matter is if you want to be screwed over or know nothing about rigs you go to Prestige. If you want to be treated fairly you go to Chapman. Simple truth.

It is nice to see you post that you are looking to improve or to at least try and earn some credit with us.

Nov 2011 I went to your shop and was set on buying a rig from you. It was a red soft top that was lifted and in good shape. My first bad, if you can call it that, experience was with the "security guard" on property. I was there on a Sunday and was just walking around the vehicle with my wife. We both had coffees in our hand and just looking around. We got the third degree about being on the lot. We were not the only ones, there were several other customers/ lookers there. What cracked me up is that when we were on the sidewalk area off Centennial we literally had 3 cars stop and tell us not to buy from you due to their experiences. That speaks volumes! I choose to ignore because I know Josh.

The next day I popped in and took the rig for a test drive, the salesman was ok, not great and he gave me his life story which was fine with me as we were from the same area, I recognized him from high school many years ago, rival school. Anyway, I know enough to know that he would only get a $100 spiff for selling the rig. I told him my price and he got the soft salesman. He reduced the price but it was still very high. He went on to tell me that you had the life put on and what not. I asked to get the build sheet and info on the lift. He then directed me to the hard salesman. He raised the price and I knew for sure he was the "hard salesman" since they try to bump it back up to a cut off % so that he gets a bigger spiff. Usually back up to 5-10% and then they get 1-2% spiff. Now, I am fine with people making money and we all know everyone has too.

The "hard" salesman then tell me the lift and I promptly call BS on him as it was a off number, I don't remember exactly but it was something like a 3 1/8th", from a well known company. He kept telling me that he was right and that it was put together special for you as you have a "special" relationship with the shop. I couldn't help but laugh at him and told him he was full of it. I am sure you have a relationship with the shop but it is on price not fake lifts. Why do I say that because they are a big company and wheel with a lot of us. Anyway, I ended up walking when he started off saying how I was an ignorant a$$. I just smiled and walked out.

There was a lot more said but that was the gist of it. A couple days later I bought from down the road.

If I were in your shoes, I would move to a good dealership. No offense. However, if you truly want to try and improve your image, perhaps train your crew and get a offroad specific team of people. A group that can answer questions and be confident in what they are selling and pushing.

Rant off, I wish you luck at your dealership but you will never get a penny from me. I will drive down to Chapman for parts which mind you is clear across town from me. I am up near the shooting range on Decatur.

*If mods have an issue with this post, please delete or let me know what you find objectionable and I will edit. Thank you.

I am not going to hide the truth in a private email... on 12/11/12 I went into your dealership. I was dealing with the internet sales guy. He was great but gave the impression that he had zero authority to do anything. He was just the middle guy for the sales manager at the time, don't remember his name and really don't care to remember his name. I told them ahead of time what I wanted for my trade in and what I was willing to pay for the new one(I even had your stock number for the exact Jeep that I wanted).
You guys had the Jeep advertised online and on the lot for less than the deal that I wanted. I was told that they just add military discounts into the advertised price... even though I qualified for that too, my price was not as low as the advertised price. In fact I did not even hit the advertised price with USAA pricing, $500 military, $500 loyalty cash, and the $1000 VW cash that was being offered at the time.

You guys would not come down one bit even though I already had the deal fully approved at Chapman and was on my way there. Instead you guys just stalled and tried to get me to drive a bunch of different Jeeps. When you guys would not budge on the price, I repeatedly asked for my keys I was given the run around. I guess that bald deuchebag owner was there and everyone was scared for their jobs if they did not make the deal. I Finally had to say "Give me my keys back before I call the cops".

The funny part is that Chapman ended up doing a dealer trade and I got the exact vehicle that I was asking for from your dealership. To top it off you incompetent service department did not even look at the jeep when they did the receiving inspection. My power steering fluid was overfilled, the washer fluid was empty, and other trivial stuff. Yet when I look at my service history online I see that you guys serviced the Jeep on 11/2/12 with 3 miles on the odo. It was late in the evening when Chapman received the vehicle from you and saw that it had already been inspected. So they just washed it.

To fix their mistake of you guys not doing your job I got a year of free service.

I have not only had bad sales experience with your dealership I have yet to have a single good interaction with your service department either. I have had to wait over 6 hours for an oil change and transmission service only to have the vehicle returned to me with greasy hand prints all over the hood, doors, and interior. When they cleaned it up, they used such a strong chemical that it streaked all of the letters on the warning labels under the hood.

I have tried to use your dealership on several occasions and always have the same crappy results. I literally live less than 5 minutes from your dealership and I would rather drive all the way to Chapman in Henderson than deal with your dealership.

Thank you, please drive through.

Great idea. Even if, say, Chapman Sahara is slightly better than Prestige, it doesn't mean that someone can't beat Chapman by a mile. Why not Prestige?

Chapman Henderson, from what I have been able to gather so far, does have at least one person who knows Jeeps and cares, so it might take some doing to beat them.
Chapman Sahara even referred me to Rick Stewart at Chapman Henderson about an after-market bumper. He must be somewhat high up because he sure is busy.

The good news is that Desert Jeep was closed. They were really bad. On my KJ the transmission was acting up and throwing a code. Long story short, Desert wanted to change whole tranny for 4800! The trouble code was only the valve body, took it to chapman and sure enough, valve body, their cost was around 1100. When confronted about it the service manager and mechanic at desert said, "eventually you will need a new transmission why not swap it now?" I was furious. That was my last repair at a dealership or as many call them, stealership. That was also the time my winch cabling was unwound. Still wonder what they did with my rig.

I appreciate the feed back, without this information it wouldn't be possible to make our dealership the best in town. In the future if you or any of your friends and family members need sales or service help feel free to contract me or my general sales manager Lloyd Andersen, 702-245-3492. I assure you we will live up to your expectations.

Any body going to Prestige to see if the fellow is true to his word, or if he is just another bama speech writer. I would be interested in knowing about the experience.

I bought a Gecko green Jeep from Prestige, I was treated very well. A younger manager helped me and not only did I get a great deal on the Wrangler, but I also got oil changes for the first three years. I compared all the prices for a new jeep in town and they beat it by $500 bucks. I am a very satisfied customer and will always come back for my service and for other Wranglers in the future since I'm a Jeep guy now that I own one. Good luck with your purchase and ill see you on the road.

All I can say is to test them or any other dealership. The maintenance is good but mark the filer/parts and see if they are really changed or adjusted.

Are you suggesting the fellow with one post, who has the same color jeep as the prestige fellow, is a plant?
