So with all my talk of the mines there on Mount Charleston I figure it might be good to get out and hit a few trails.
The only one I am going to hit is Lucky Strike Mine. I have not seen it but have heard about it and have been on the trail but it has been several years now.
This trail shouldn't be too bad. Expect some pin striping, if it is the trail I remember as it get a bit narrow in one or two sections. I do not believe there is anything major on this trail, however I have been wrong before.
I am planning on getting out a fair amount, checking out the area and just enjoying the outdoors. While this should be an easy trail, recovery equipment is always a good thing to have. CB's are HIGHLY recommended but if you do not have one that just means we will end up sticking you in-between a couple rigs that do. BTW, we will talk smack about you.
Also, due to the fact that we may find/explore a mine I recommend not bringing any pets. It is totally up to you though. I try to always take mine but will be leaving mine at home for this trip.
Don't forget a lunch/snacks and plenty of water. Top off your gas before you head out. Always better to be safe then out of gas.
A few last things that I am particular on...
1-Several of the guys I run with are either LEO, active Military or retired. If you have issues with any one of those, you are not welcome.
2-Some of us carry, either open or concealed. If you have an issue with that, do not come along.
3-You are responsible for your rig and it's occupants.
4-Know your RIG and YOUR driving abilities. If you do not think you can do something, DON'T DO IT. Many of us have been on the trails for a long time and will gladly help spot but ultimately it is your call.
5-We are out to enjoy the outdoors. Don't be a dick and trash up the area. If you see something dangerous, speak up.
6-Have fun and relax.
