I like the Genoa Peak Road great views at the top
(I know is says I am from Salem, but I lived in South Lake Tahoe for 19 years, have done the Rubicon forwards, and backwards (which is a really funny story).
Supposedly there's some ghost town's foundations down a trail between Dayton and Silver Springs. I guess it's a couple of hours off the pavement, but I haven't been able to check it out yet. I have no idea what else is around...a bunch of dirt roads but I don't know what's private and what's public out here.
my Jeep will never make it in there, but I do have a friend that has completed the Rubicon, maybe someday my Jeep will be ready
