My kids were being grumpy when I tried to wake them up. Not the thing I wanted to spend 5 hours in the jeep with. Hopefully I can make the next run

I still went out. Ended up doing Wheelers Pass instead. It was snowing most of the day and it made for a great trail ride.

3 day weekend coming and need to go do something other than hang out at the house. Since you can get over the top and I need something local any ideas on where and when????? Wheeler Pass is a good candidate??? Anyone with some ideas jump in and lets see if we can get out this weekend for at least one day. The weather is warming and supposed to be sunny and clear. 60s in the flatland so it should be just right for some fun.

Still thinking about Rhyolite with the Dst. Wranglers on Sunday, but would prefer something a little closer on Saturday, Let me know what you are thinking. No 3 day weekend for me.

Wheelers Pass is open a group went through Sunday. Good time to get a bottle of wine. The wine tour ends at 3:30. But the tasting room is open. It is close enough quick trip.

Ray if you can bring your wallet we can do Wheeler Pass Saturday and pick up some wine. I don't know if I will make the Sunday trip I just can't keep up with the DW on the highway. Maybe I could make the meet and leave in front and might just time in at the first stop.

I can't keep up with them on the trail is more like it. We did state line pass with them a few years ago and it was way faster than my normal pace. I generally have my kids with me and am not about to be doing 30 on the trail. I generally fall to the back of runs and just go at my own pace, it is more relaxing and you don't get white knuckles

Your funny. Trying to talk my wife into Wheeler Pass on Saturday and having lunch over there while we are there. I will let you know later in the week.

I'll talk mine into going lunch and she likes the wine so a trip for a bottle may stop at more than one place. They are easy to find on Winery Road.

Is this thing on and am i in the right place...

New Jeeper here.
Just dropping in to say hello, hi how are ya!

I cant get enough of this thing, i take it out as often as i can.

Any good trails anyone can recommend in the vegas area?

Ive been poking around the entire valley at roads i had seen over the years and just couldn't get to before. Ive put over 1000miles in the past month just Jeepin allover.

I like clever storage and storage box ideas, and yappin about lashing things down and attaching stuff to e roll bars. Ideas for the pooches and back seat mods are always interesting too.

And of course, any advise about anything is great and appreciated.

Have a great evening

Welcome.

Have had ours about 6 months now and have almost 12,000 miles on it with almost half of those miles off road around Vegas.

Keep an eye on this thread (Nevada Thread), seems like someone throws up a weekend ride almost every weekend. The trips are generally day trips and are pretty loose, everyone is welcome to join in. Just check in and see what plans people are posting.

Good Luck and Enjoy!

Too many trails to list but here are some popular ones close by and make good trips. Rocky Gap (Potato Ridge) some rock crawling on the Pharump side but manageble, Wheeler Pass goood day trip to Pharump, Burro Wash in Boulder City nice drive to the Colorado River. Bitter Springs Country Byway from the 15 over to Lake Mead puts you out at Echo Bay nice drive.

Keep looking here for some runs and there are several Jeep Clubs, Desert Wranglers in Henderson, Sin City Wranglers Las Vegas and 702 Warmachines. There are some other 4 wheel clubs just do a search.

How about a Death Valley trip 20 April? Spring is in full force and I've heard that now is the perfect time of year to see Death Valley. I have a book on roads up there and I'd like to spend a full day checking out the area.

Desert Wranglers in Henderson. They did a Death Valley trip last fall or this winter. I was all set to go and then couldn't. I studied the park maps and the planned two day routes figuring gas mileage. Everything I found on the web looked really good about where they were going.

I was thinking a day trip to furnace creek, green water valley and west side road. There are a ton of side trip options.

Hang out and watch the trail thread. Loose group and the only rule is you have to go out and have fun. Welcome and hope to get you on the trail soon.
