bellingham area

Just wondering if anyone is in the Bellingham area. Where do you go besides northfork, looking for some good places to go. Are there any local clubs?
Thanks chris

Hey Chris

I'm located just south of ya in Burlington. I'm not sure about up in Whatcom County, but here we have Johnson's Bar on the Skagit River and Walker Valley up in Big Lake. Then there's a bunch of logging roads that aren't hard to get to either, as well as Alger and Blanchard Mtns

I'm in Bellingham too and am looking to find others for some medium wheeling action. I hear that the Rainier Ridge Rams are an active club up here again. I emailed them a week ago to try and learn more about meeting dates, etc, but have yet to hear back.

Used to go up Cub Creek at the end of Lake Whatcom, but that has been shut down for a long time. I'm not sure where there is any wheeling right around Bellingham, but if you know, let's go, because it's way better to wheel with another rig than alone.

I'm just up I5 in Ferndale. The best place to go around here is Walker Valley east of Big Lake. There use to be a place off of Portal way north of me but it was just a place to play in the mud. They cleared out the trees and left all the limbs behind so the area is pretty much useless now. If you ever have a wrenching party let me know. I love wrenching on jeeps.

I'm in Seattle right now, but I'll be moving to Whatcom county in the next month or so, and I'd love to help put together a Jeep club to arrange outings. This very afternoon I traded in my '98 Sahara for a 2011 Sport, and I'm looking forward to taking her out. She's still 100% stock at the moment, but even a stock Sport can handle 90% of what Washington can throw at a Jeep.

(Which reminds me, I'm looking for a reputable shop/mechanic in Whatcom who knows Jeeps and who welds, as I've got a lot of modifications planned, and I don't weld.)

Bell off-road is a really good shop just north of Ferndale. As far a mechanical i'm not sure since I do my own work so far. "Money saver" I also do most of my own welding. Got a small welder that work very well for my needs.

I don't know about Whatcom county, but I know HARRIS OFF-ROAD in Burlington does good work. He's where I go for stuff I don't do myself

I'd be willing to join a club if someone started one too.

You know cody, it takes a few people to start a club, we have four, if everyone wants to start a club we can talk about it, so who's in?

Hmmm.... I would have to think about it. It would be nice to have some more friends with jeep in the area.

I remember when Harris was on the North side of town by the freeway. Next time i'm in the area i'll have to swing by.

What kind of club are you thinking of? Just some guys hanging out, wrenching parties and wheeling or would it be more like a Real serious type of club with a President, VP, Treasure and dues and everything else that they do?

So far we have just done a meet and greet with a couple of us. Chris and I have a couple of friends that haven't meet yet. It will be a while before my jeep gets to go offroad.
