CB Tuning

I have received a CB for my birthday (along with a nice air compressor). Installing this week but would love some local help tuning it once I have it up and running.

How ironic, just bought a air compressor and CB with birthday money. When I get it I could use some help too.

I'll probably see you Saturday (assuming you're going to Evans), will have my SWR meter in tow. Which antenna did you get, and which mounting option are you going with (tailgate, bumper, license bracket, hood)?

Alright, go my Cobra 75 and 3 foot firestik and a SWR. I tested the SWR and channels 1, 19, and 40, were all in the red zone on the meter. So from what Ive gathered, that means its not grounded correctly? How do I fix that?

From what I saw, your antenna mount is grounded against the plastic 3rd brake light tower (ie Not Grounded At All). The easiest thing to do is probably to run a ground wire from one of the mount bolts, through the tailgate and into the Jeep. Once there, find some bare metal to attach to.
UNGROUNDED ANTENNA MOUNTS

You'll also want to make sure your antenna stud and plate are assembled correctly.

The stud and plate are correct. Also my mount is on the passenger side tail light, not the 3rd brake light. I might find a CB place that can help me out if nothing else.
