Jeep fell in my lap!

I have inherited a 2010 jeep islander from my brother- I have never owned a jeep- was wondering if you all could give me an est of cost to maintain, maybe a appraisal if I was to buy it from some one? Is this a decent jeep? Anything I should know about it?
He never took it off road clean jeep- single mother of 2 little girls and a huge dog ( 125 lb newfie ) trying to figure out if I should keep it. And it will be a safe car for my little family - (If not it will go to my mother not for sale )
Thanks in advance

Do you have and pictures? Pictures help with the cost to maintain and how much it would be worth. Also are there any upgrades (motor upgrades, bumpers, lifts, winches, wheels and tires, and other body upgrades)?

Welcome to the forum. 2010 is the least complained about model year. So you are good there. Mileage isn't all that great. But they are fun to drive. A few question:
2DR or 4DR?
Soft top or Hard top?
Any mods?
Six speed or Auto?

It's a two door black with blue and black interior- it has a few top options half top with front off like in my avatar, full hard top on or off and a soft top- it's all stock,

The 2Dr model for that year does not have the forward tumble seat. It can get to be a bit tough for the in and out routine with your kids. Other than that it will be a blast to drive. And I know the kids will love it when it's topless.

I have 2010 sport. I have 2 girls age 5 and 11. They love the Jeep and
they get disappointed when I show up to pick them up from school in my wife's mini van. They say the Jeep is cool and the van is not cool. The 11 year old loves it when I pull up with the top off and all her friends are around.
