Latest Update on "Don't Fear the Jeeper" Event

Ok, here is the latest update on the “Don’t Fear the Jeeper” Event.

I have spoken with three different people at the Dick Hanna Jeep Dealership, including the person in charge of Don’t Fear the Jeeper which Brandon no longer works for. Everyone has said the same thing, which is they have been told as of last week that there are no plans to hold the Don’t Fear the Jeeper Event this year. The Office manager has not returned any of my phone calls to see if anything can be done to help persuade them in changing their mind. Since the “Don’t Fear the Jeeper” Event has been the only major Jeeping Community gathering event in the SW Washington and NW Oregon region for the last two years and has helped raise funds for the Yacolt Burn, along with bringing all Jeepers together in one location to support and share in our passion.

I am proposing that anyone who would like to positively and constructively express their feelings about how much the “Don’t Fear the Jeeper” Event means to the local Jeeping Community post their comment on Dick Hanna’s Jeep Facebook Website at:

Dick Hannah Chrysler Jeep Dodge - Car Dealership - Vancouver, WA | Facebook

Maybe together we can get the “Don’t Fear the Jeeper” Event back on for this year.

It is more of the tradition and meaning of the "Don't Fear the Jeeper" Event. Since it has already been established and is centrally located, we hate to see a tradition taken away from the Jeeping Community while other groups are still being supported. It would be nice to have another local company step up and hold this large of an Jeeping Event as a 2nd event since most states have multiple events with the exception of the Portland/Vancouver Area. But after last night's responses from Dick Hanna there is a chance they may change their mind about canceling the event. We are supposed to find out in the next couple of days. Also we have been contact by the person who ran the Don't Fear the Jeeper Events for the past 2 years before leave Dick Hanna and he has something in the works with a new company for future a major Jeep Event.

As soon as we hear back from Dick Hanna today or tomorrow we will post what their new final decision is.

Dick Hanna just announced it will be holding an Jeeper Event this year, but since the Original Jeeper is no longer with them it will be held under a new name. As soon as a Date is set the information will be posted.
