Leavenworth Wa trail info

I'm heading to Leavenworth for the weekend and talked the little miss into letting me take my TJ.
Someone said there was an ORV area around those part but not finding anything.
Is there trails I can go on and how do I get there?
Please I don't want to stay in a cabin all weekend with the in-laws.

I've been up Icicle Creek many times and never really found any good jeep trails. Am I missing something? Where on Icicle are you going?

Yeah, Liberty is only 20 min or so before Leavenworth. My brother and I are headed up there for Father's Day for some camping and wheeling.

This is by memory, and I'm old, so I could be wrong;
Liberty is on Hwy 97, just over the pass from Leavenworth as you head towards Ellensburg. The 'town' of Liberty consists of a general store, and a few houses. IF you sneeze, you drive past the road to Liberty off the hwy.
The surrounding woods of the town are an abundance of old logging and mining trails, which thru age have turned into great wheeling trails. You typically will find both 'weekend miners' and 'weekend jeepers' there thruout the spring and summer months. It's a fun area.

How did this work out? I'm heading to Leavenworth over Memorial Day and not sure whether to tow the jeep or the minivan... Would love to do some trails if there are some around.

Well, this thread started three years ago - so who knows?

I live in Wenatchee, near Leavenworth. My sons and our friends, and I get out in our rigs often. There's NOT much right around Leavenworth for Jeeps - there are miles and miles of hiking trails though.

The little, semi-ghost town of Liberty, on 97 near Blewett Pass is the hub of the local Jeep Trails. These are official, recognized by the U.S. Forest Service, jeep trails. You're not going to get in trouble with the rangers or the Sheriff by wheeling on them. And some are quite challenging. On Memorial Day weekend, anticipate having company. Several groups of people camp up there and wheel in that area all weekend.

Here is a good link to many of the Jeep Trails in Washington, including the Liberty trails. The trail descriptions, maps and photos are pretty good: Washington Trails

Or - if some of those trails are more challenging than you're seeking - body damage is quite possible on some - there are miles and miles of Forest Service Roads near Leavenworth. Sugar Loaf is a family friendly, stock Jeep friendly destination with great views. Etc... Get a Forest Service map of the Wenatchee National Forest, it will show the vast network of Forest Service roads in the area.

Enjoy!

Oh - worth noting - some of the trails don't legally open until June 15, FYI.
