Liberty 4W319 Crystal Ridge

Has anyone been over to Liberty lately? Anything good out there? I called the Ranger station and all the trails to the West of 97 are open now. Is it worth going over there?

Still a bit early. I watch the 410 reports. if the snow is still piled up in the American River valley, then the elevations are still pretty packed.

I hope it's good to go soon! I want to go back over there this summer some time. I haven't heard of anyone going over there yet this year though.

We took 4W321 on Monday, if it wasn't for the rain this trail would be a piece of cake and rather boring. Couple sketchy hill climbs where you have to commit or slide back down backward or winch yourself up if you get your vehicle to stay on the hill. One downhill that we basically pointed downhill and pin balled our way down. After that we took the FS 118 down and bailed on the rest of the fun. Would like to check this area out when its dry.

I was there two weeks ago and it was great. Very dry and thus not terribly challenging but some fun routes to play with in the area.

I'll be up there on Saturday with some of the South Sound Cruisers, always enjoy wheeling in new places.
