Need snowboard/bike rack ideas

Have a 2010 2dr Wrangler. Bought a Thule Ridgeline that looked like a great purchase. That said, I couldn't get it to fit past my spare tire unless I purchased a hitch extender. Got that and installed but found that I couldn't open the tailgate. Other ideas? I need something that provides for both snowboards and 4 bikes. Thanks!

I believe thule makes an adapter that attaches the bike/snowboard rack straight to the spare tire
