I can see your missing my point. Yes pulling Levi backwards worked. It would have worked just as well pulling Tracey forwards if you wouldn't have spun the tires. You leave it in neutral, use the winch attached to the tree and start reeling it in. Your jeep would have just coasted across the snow while pulling the jku out. Your tires would have not dug down like they did and the job would have been done.

We never had the winch out at that time though.. nobody said oh hook up to him then hook up the winch.. I asked you if you wanted me to pull him forward and you said yes.. you never mentioned using the winch

My bad I though you knew what I meant. I didn't realize you need detailed instructions. You weren't going to be able to just pull him out. I knew that before we had you come back. It was going to require a winch either way.

I didn't want to winch him back because I was having issues getting through that area and I had to get a running start to get through where the ruts were deeper. I wasn't close enough to winch him back at that time and I would have had to run up there and probably get stuck, then have beaverjeeper run up behind me as an anchor and possibly him get stuck right behind me. If I would have tried to winch him without an anchor I would have just pulled myself in.

Ah gotcha.. well then chock it up to misconnunication.. im new to wheeling especially in the snow and it doesn't hurt my pride to admit it, also new to winching.. you were still able to winch him backward without getting stuck so it ended up working out.. I wouldn't consider telling me to hook up the winch too as detailed instructions either.. don't assume anyone knows what you mean either, especially when you saw I didn't hook it up and tried for several minutes to pull him without, saying anything

Yes, I was. I didn't do it the first time because I wasn't sure I could with my clearance. But it did work. I thought it would have been easier for you since you have a lot more lift and bigger tires. I did have to use the the beev's jeep as an anchor though. Next time I'll remember to explain things better.

I wasn't sure you wanted to hear me tell you what to do. You looked fairly determined and I'm just thinking "what the hell are you doing" I didn't want to come across as being bossy is all.

Gotcha, now stop being an idiot and use the winch the right way. lol.

Ya you did do quite well in the snow with those tires and they proved to be able to displace LOTS of snow when you spin the tires. OR when you are driving sideways down the trail.

Now that was fun! Unintentional but fun :-) yeah ill resort to the winch from now on.. but depending on the obstacle to get over I think its easier to go backward and anchor to another jeep than try to get to those trees way up.. again it would depend on if the stuck vehicle would be able to make it past the obstacle with more speed.. if it was say a log or something then yeah go forward.. just comes down to the situation

Ya, when you were driving sideways down the trail I thought for sure you were going to get stuck. Especially when you stopped for a second and then started going again. Probably to find another gear or something. Wish I had it on video because it looked nuts from where I was. lol

Haha it was nuts in the vehicle.. especially from lukes perspective.. I stopped to put it in 4hi cuz I was using both hands to keep the wheel from going left more

So I figured out why my tire went flat. There was a small gash in the sidewall. Guess it's time to put these BFG A/Ts on. Too bad they are like a 235/75R15 which is a 29" tire.

Yes they are.

I don't feel too bad about it now. I just measured the 31's and the 235's. The 235's came out to 28" and the 31's came out to 29"

If anyone is interested chime in, i'm thinking we meet up around 8am Saturday morning at Steves place in the valley.
