Stalls while warming up (YJ)

1991 Jeep Wrangler YJ
4 cyl. 2.5L

I need serious help, my day to day commuter YJ has fell ill. When I start it up (day, afternoon, night) it stays on for about 5 minutes, and then stalls out, on the road last time I drove it, i had to feather the engine to make it home. It starts at a normal 1100-1000 RPM, then after a few minutes losses all it has gained and dies.

WHAT I'VE DONE:
- New fuel pump
- Cleaned - IAC
- Throttle Body

(after..)
The problem still existed, so I checked the difference with removing the IAC, and running it. The difference was it idled at 1400-1000, and I left it on for about two minutes and didn't die in that time frame. I don't think the problem lies, in the IAC.... but.. I could be wrong. I NEED HELP. Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?

The IAC is the idle air control. Your test seems to prove it is bad.

Another thing to check is the speed sensor. We have had to replace it twice on my husbands 91.

What is this speed sensor? Where's it located? You taking about the speed sensor in the transfer case? Or crank sensor on the bell housing upper driver side.

I have no experience with IACV problems in Jeeps, but with Hondas this is exactly what an IACV problem would present as. Solution is basically removing the IACV and hosing it down with brake cleaner.

I'm talking about the speed senor that is in the transfer case, that the speedometer cable connects to.

When David's went out he had issues with it stalling and starting.
We had to replace it 2 different times.
