TILLAMOOK STATE FOREST RUN; JUNE 15th 2011 NOTES:

I just want to say for all of those that could not attend today's event, that we had a really great time, great company, great weather and we missed you. We ended up with 9 Jeeps to start with and ended up loosing one on the way to the staging area (later to learn he had returned home safe & sound). 7 from the group showed up and a special guest Levi Yackley's Dad attended. We ran 4 different trails: Bates Road, All of Fire Brake 5 (except Crushers), University Firepower, and a small section of Powerline (plus I think we might have hit a few unlisted trails). We had a couple of banged differentials, a few scrapes on a couple of rims, and a loose axle joint, other then that we had no Breakage, Body or Suspension Damage. For a lot of us these Black Diamond trails were not something we had thought of going on right away until we were sure we were ready, But a special Thanks to Mark (n2jeepn) & Ken (IslandTJ) for taking the time to spot us and help us get through the difficult sections. I hope everyone gets a chance to run some of these trails in the future or some of the other trails at TSF. It's a great place, a lot of fun, and a great learning experience. Don't forget the next TSF run is June 25th 2011. We will be running Easy to Moderate Trails (not planning to run Black Diamond trails) so stock and modified Jeeps Wranglers can come.

We had a total of 10 Jeep show up, even a few from another club that was supposed to be trail running the same day and time, but since they where late their members ran with us. We had a great time and the weather couldn't have been better.

We are having a last minute run to Woodland Wa, and east on Lewis River Rd about 6 miles. It is tentatively planned to launch around 12 to 1pm TODAY, and will probably wrap up around 6pm. The trails that we know of are mild to light moderate, but we will be exploring a little bit more. Call John at 503-756-9815 with any questions/Directions.

Had to leave may hi-lift, recovery gear, etc in Bellevue last night. So if no one minds pulling me out if I can't drive out myself, Carolyn says I should and run with you tomorrow! See you at Brown's Staging!

Hey Jeepers!

Had a great time yesterday. Thanks again for spotting me thru the Boulder of Doom.

Have attached pics of Tom's JKU at Cedars shooting the arch without issue. Also have iPad video of Mark, Dan and I crawling the Boulder of Doom.

Carolyn and I had hoped to make it to the GTG this evening but had to head back to Bellevue earlier this afternoon but looking forward to making it to the trail cleanup later this month.

Dennis,
Enjoyed having you there. Was really suprised that a JKU could get around the rock of DOOM. Look forward to seeing you and your bride at Bates on the 23rd.

Hey guys, Columbia River Miracle League is hosting a car show Saturday, July 30th from 10am till 2pm, to help raise money to build a specialized field for kids and adults with special needs to play baseball on,music donated by DJ Glenn !!! bring your hot-rods, rat-rods, or tonka-rods to Evergreen high School !! Any and all types of cars, trucks and Jeeps are welcome. Entry is by donation. So I figure if we all chip in(though not manditory) $10 per Jeep that would be great. We will meet at the Burgerville in Downtown Vancouver off of Mill Plain BLVD at 9am and leave at 9:30, we will convoy over to the the carshow at Evergreen High School. If you are interested, send me a P.M. and I will put you on our list. Thanks Guys, and Gals
