July 23-24, 2011 (Bates Road #24 work party)

Next Saturday and Sunday is our work party for Bates Road #24 located in the Tillamook State Forest. I hope you can make it out even if it is for a little bit. Any help is appreciated.

We will meet at the “Rogers Camp Day Use Area” at 8am. “Rogers Camp Day Use Area” is located in the Tillamook State Forest off Hwy 6. WB from Hwy 6 turn left just past MM33. Drive .1 to the T in the road and turn left. Drive .25 and look for us staging near the restrooms. We will leave at 8:30am and drive to the Bates Road area to start the work party. We will be working on the upper part of Bates Road #24, so plan on working until noon. Bring yourself drinks/water and food for the day and a little extra to share. After lunch we can go on 4x4ing or have an off road clinic. Suggested items to bring for personal use, gloves, sturdy boots/shoes, long sleeve shirt, long pants, safety glasses, I’ll have the tools.

I should point out that it is not just for younglings, but for those adults with mental handicaps as well. But either way still going to be an awesome day!

Hey guys this was a great day, we even got Dan to show us how to make the difficult look scary!!

See go Dan!

Really for those that were not able to make this run you missed a great day.

BTW, for those with stock, no lift of even slightly lifted JKU's we drug bottom on most of the high filter bumps getting out of the Bates.

I have been slowly building out and upgrading the JKU and its beginning to become the Jeep I'd hoped for.

#4 on the first run for the front bumper due last of August, so until then the winch sits on the floor in the garage.

For those who do not know Vancouver that well, we will be meeting at the Burgerville on Mill Plain in Downtown Vancouver. The address is,
307 E Mill Plain Blvd
Vancouver, WA 98660-3241
Hope to see y'all there at 9am, and we will depart at 9:30 to head to Evergreen High School.

Ok so in all of my wisdom of thinking I knew where Evergreen High School was, I set the meeting place at Burgerville in Downtown Vancouver. Well after actually looking up the address for Evergreen High School 14300 NE 18th St. Vancouver, WA 98684, lol It is actually over near Orchards. So we will have 16 minute drive from Burgerville to the High School. SO... We will still leave at 9:30, but not a minute later. lol Should you be running late, give me a call and I can guild you to intercept our convoy, or to have you head directly to the school.

Car Show with Columbia River Miracle League; July 30th 2011 Report

Well we had 6 members make it out to the Car Show to help raise money for the Baseball Field and 1 new member made it also (Welcome Getodd1) not a bad turn out. There were a few nice old cars there and the music was good, most of our time was spent talking about Kids and Jeep stuff (you know us Jeepers). N2jeepn & Rev both stopped by and visited for a while and over all I think everyone had a good time.

I was really hoping to make this trek on Sunday... (I talked to you guys last Sunday at Don't Fear the Jeeper")..... but alas...... something came up (prior commitment that I had remembered being on Sat.)

No worries! we will have other events. Dennis has the original Trecktop. He is out of town, best bet to get a hold of him would be through PM if you have questions. :-)

So I am planning a "Something Old and Somthing New" camping trip and trail running trip with a few guys from the Earlycj5./com forum and the wrangler forum.

We are heading up to camp at Browns Camp August 12-14. If anyone would like to daytrip, camp a night or stay the weekend, it should be a really fun time. Bring your campers, tents or tarps, kids should be fine as most of our trips have been fairly family friendly.

Lets have a fun run, celebrating the past to present wranglers and CJ's!

Pm me or hit me on facebook if interested or for details. Hope to see you all out there!

Browns camp camp out, with something old and something new

August 12th - 14th 5:00pm to 3:00pm
Tillamook State Forest, Browns Camp Campground

I am inviting folks from the earlycj5.com forum as well as wranglerforum.com guys, so there will be a year range spanning nearly the entire lineup from early cj5 to present wranglers.

We will be camping from Friday to Sunday. So if folks would like to day trip, stay a night or the entire weekend, good times shall be had. Bring your camper, tent or tarp. This should be a kid friendly environment such as our usual events.

We will be in the Browns Camp Camping area and on CB 22.

Look Forward to seeing you crazy kids!

Saturday we are having a run to Flag Point Look Out. The weather is expected to be 80 to 90 degrees with light winds depending on elevation. The fire conditions today are moderate but could be upgraded to high by Saturday. Remember to hydrate today, do not wait until tomorrow. Be prepared for the hot dusty conditions we will encounter. Things to think about to bring are; hats, sun glasses, sun screen, white long sleeve or short sleeve shirts (light color clothing) , gallon of water per person, gallon of water for fire extinguishment and vehicles if needed, lunch. We will see you Saturday.
