Great that a fellow Jeeper found it. I guess he gets the gift card.

A year and a half is barely any time, anywhere. But if it means you get stationed at one of your top 5s then it's an opportunity you have to seize (don't know if you have the choice or not...). Be sure to teach them Germans how it's done when they try to hang with their G Wagons.

I really don't have much of a choice. I could decline the assignment but that isn't good and most of the time another assignment will drop a month or two later. That one I couldn't decline and it might be to some place I don't want to go so it's in my best interest to take this assignment. Ya, not much wheelin in Germany and it's mostly mud. I'm done with mud. lol. I did some thinking over the weekend and it would be better for me to ship the WRX over than the Jeep. The Nürburgring is about an hour away from where I'll be stationed and then there are the autobahns.

Of course. I need to log my visit somehow for being there. How do I do that? Just log a normal visit?

lol. Gonna have to load up Gran Turismo and run a few hunded laps to get the track memorized so I'll be familiar with the track when I get there. I'll mount a camera in the car when I go and upload it on youtube.

So did some reading in a magazine called 4x4 Cherokee and they had an article on a 4.0 that they built to 777 hp! It was bored out to a 5.0 and they slapped a big a$$ turbo on it! It was pretty sick, making 777 hp @ 4000 and 695 ftlbs @5000

If it's anything Top Gear has taught me it's that video games are a poor lesson for real life driving. Hence why Clarkson had such trouble at Laguna Seca.

I'd still like to see that video though. I want to see if you can beat Sabina Schmitz's van lap.

You can't take ANYTHING from Jeremy Clarkson and apply it to real life. I just need to memorize the turns. Oh, and get this... one of my co-workers here is friends with someone who is stationed there who will be one of my co-workers when I get there. He has an STi and he frequents the track. Give me enough track time to really get to know the track and I'll give it one hell of a try.

Fine, ya talked me into it. Looks like I will get a 4 day weekend anyways so might as well, right. I'm thinking of heading up early Friday morning. There is a place I know near Bumblebee that is fairly shaded and should have more than enough room. I could set up camp there so no one can take it. Instead of overloading my jeep and us being all squished we are going to take the Jeep and the Subaru.

Well, suck. I am the standby mechanic for this weekend so I can't go camping. I have to stay in the local area in case a fire truck breaks down.

I'm gonna spend the weekend in the garage getting a bunch of stuff ready to sell(parts, tools, the Mini etc.) and do some cleaning up.
