Looks right to me and you should have no problem fitting a Skyjacker steering stabilizer on there. I had a dual Skyjacker setup on my YJ and it is the same setup you have now. The Skyjacker setup wont bolt up in the same location as stock so it doesn't matter. It should come with it's own brackets.

Well, I see it if that's what you mean. That looks like the stock stabilizer to me. The only problem with an aftermarket stabilizer is if it's so thick that it contacts the track bar mount when the steering is at full lock one way or the other. A stabilizer is a stabilizer. It doesn't do as much work as your shocks do. A stock one should be fine.

Awesome, im probably going to get a rancho though because i can pick one up at O'Reillys for the same price. Is rancho on par with skyjacker? I'm hoping to tighten up the steering box too.. Turning wrenches tomorrow

Depending on what I can find I might have to do that. And thank you for the offer, Chris. I'll definitely keep it under consideration.

I have a lot of play with my steering, and get bump steer every once in a while. Its sometimes scary to go around curves on roads at the posted speed limit, and i hate pissing people off behind me lol. I figure i'll replace it just to be on the safe side

No problem. A U-Haul trailer is about $55 a day.

Here are a couple of pics of the dual setup I had on my YJ to give you an idea of how it fits.

When I was running 38's I did but I didn't change anything when I downsized to 35's other than the tire size so who knows what the before and after would have been like on the 35's. I didn't need duals with the 35's but I didn't feel like taking the second one off so I just left em both on there.

I'm hoping it will help. Have you ever made the adjustment in the steering box? I think thats where a lot of the "play" issues are coming from.

So now its on to figuring out my shocks.. need to replace the rears next week. Buddy of mine will be welding on the DS rear mount, and might re-weld the PS one too. Dunno what size i need though.

Got the Rancho 5000 on, night and day difference to me, steering has stiffened for sure. Changed the oil, the air filter (which has a lot of oil blowback apparently) I'll say coming from a tuner car to a lifted jeep, i love changing my oil now lol.

haha that's probably a good idea. so we found they did a little bit of a jurryrigging job doing the high mounted steering.. they cut off part of the old pitman arm and welded it to the knuckle. Wondering if thats a common high steering mod.. the weld is really solid though

much better weld than that POS. We're going to be rewelding the passenger side mount, and put the drivers side back on. The ones on it werent bad actually, they were like $70 each or so according to a friend who sells them. Bilsteins are going on next week Rear first, then perhaps the front

That's good, I'm hoping to get some Bilstien 5100 or 5150s this year, the ones that are on the jeep now are pretty beat up. I need to get some extended brake lines too lol

I'm goin with the 5100's. Too bad they didn't leave the old break lines on mine too lol I did find another thing on my jeep I dont need. A weight bolted on the rear axle to reduce drivetrain noise, 3 bolts and it will be off, forgot to do that today. Gonna flush the tranny sometime soon and put the RP syncromesh in

Announcement

SO....I just found out that my best friend from since I was 10 years old is coming up here from Oregon to stay for a couple of days, the 25th thru the 28th. The 26th is a Saturday and the 27th is obviously a Sunday so I'd like to take him wheeling on one of those 2 days with our group and show him a good time. Sadly the only place to go right now is back to 7 Mile. It's all we got right now.

I'd like to propose that we have our March get together on either of those two days. What say you all?

Sounds good to me. I got my teeth pulled today. And when I woke up from the sedative I was rapping about my jeep. That's what the nurses told me
