how bout this. we get you a big bearing 31 spline 9 from the junkyard, you'll have the right width axle to match the front, you wont have to order new shafts unless you really want to, then you'd have spare shafts and center section.. get a strange nodular case and your choice of locker and gears since you'll be regearing the front anyway..

I'm thinking getting a big bearing is gonna be cheaper in the long run, I found a fully assembled 3rd member for 559 shipped with the gears I want and a mini spool which I will be swapping for an Aussie locker

getting 4.88s

with the 3rd member i found it will be about 750 with the aussie locker, that 3rd comes with 4.86 gears installed ready to drop in to a housing, if i was to go your route it would be double before it was ready to go into the housing

If I stay with my housing then I have to get custom shafts to get 5x5 1/2 bolt pattern to match the front axle cheapest route I've figured so far is new BB axle, swap out center section then build the front axle

I know this, we're getting rid of your rear axle entirely, but what's the plan for the front

I'm not sure I'm okay with it, or want to be a part of it. the fun part will be getting the front to be 5 on 5.5..
