8.8 for sure unless you plan motor tansplant. Disc brake, lsd in most. Not too hard to find with 4.10.

The 8.8 has new calipers, pads, rotors, a Solid brand diff cover, and the tubes welded so they will not twist. The front is just stock with the center axle disconnect forced into the lock position, also all new brakes except for the driver caliper. They are set up for spring under. If your interested in them.

Deciding on the rear axle will depend a lot on the tire size you envision running eventually. If you're not going bigger than 33s then go with an 8.8, but when you start thinking 35 and up, you now have to consider the front axle too. The stock front is okay on 35s and light to moderate wheeling, but there are some weaknesses that you can do away with by upgrading to something better.

People always think of just the rear, but the front is important too. There aren't many front axles that are stronger and yet the same or close to the same width stock. So unless you want to cut an axle down to match the 8.8, consider the tire size and type of wheeling you want to do

When I was looking I couldnt find a 4.10 axle to save my life in the jy. Once I got my 3.73 axle regeared, bam, found three on my next trip.

Most of the 4.10s get picked quick, especially in the summer time.

Hello, I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler 2 door. I am putting a 4 inch lift on it and wanted to put 20x10 -12 offset but the backspacing is 5. I hearing different stories as it will work and some say it wont. Some people are telling me to go with 20x10 -24 with a 4.5 backspacing but I'm afraid that the stance will look to big and not look right, plus some people say they may rub. Should I just run 20x9 -12 just to be on the safe side?? What do you recommend? running 35 12.50R20

Well since you're going to have to regear your front axle anyway, theres no reason to get 4.10s.. You'll want 4.56s

So any 8.8 with disc brakes you find will work, ford axles dont have carrier splits like dana axles

Also, from experience, plan your axles around one tire size bigger than you think you'll ever run as chances are youll end up getting bigger tires down the road.

Yep... I recall thinking 35s were the biggest I'd ever run.. even thought for a hot minute of going to 33s because it was my daily driver. Now I'll probably throw 37s or 40s on since it's a toy

If your jeep has the i6 and a 5 speed, your axles will be 3.07:1, it's possible to run 33s on those gears but it won't be fun.

One of the benefits to going to lower gears is your crawl ratio will be better, which will give you more finite control when off road

Right now your crawl ratio in low range is a little under 32:1, with 4.56s that will change to 47.5:1 which is much better. Not to mention fuel economy won't suffer with the gear change.

I ended up finding 4.10's in a mazda swapped them into an explorer rear. Couldnt find an explorer with 4.10's in the short period that i looked.

Well then you'll want even lower than 4.56, Unfortunately the lowest you can go due to your front axle is 4.88
